This Friday 21st November The Gallery welcomes The Trance Awards to its home at Ministry of Sound in London. Now in its fourth year The Trance Awards is a celebration of the biggest and the best in the world of trance from the past 12 months. Featuring 12 categories voted for by the public via online portal www.tranceawards.com, the 4th Annual Trance Awards Powered by Trackitdown.net is set to be the biggest date on the global trance calendar and we are delighted to welcome it to The Gallery for the very first time.
Voting has already started and is open to everyone. The vote will close on Saturday 15th November with the results announced live at the event. The highlight every year is the star-studded ceremony and full-on party which celebrates the diversity of trance music and culture. Previously the awards have been hosted by the likes of Passion, Godskitchen and Slinky, and this year it’s time for long-running trance institution The Gallery at the world-famous Ministry Of Sound to welcome the most up for it trance crowd of the year on Friday 21st November.
The line-up this year includes Trance Awards stalwart and Gallery regular Judge Jules, who will once again help to present the awards, alongside The Thrillseekers, Lange, Sied Van Riel, Claudia Cazacu and Gavyn Mytchel with some very special surprise live guest appearances.
The UK’s leading dance download store, Trackitdown.net has once again revamped the Trance Awards website to create a fresh vibe in another storming year for the scene. Alongside the voting, the team have enlisted leading key figures from the worlds of production, performance and promotion to tell visitors about how the last 12 months has turned out for them and look ahead to the coming year. Well worth checking out if we say so ourselves and don’t forget to vote for your favourite Gallery resident or guest from the past 12 months!
Judge Jules is no stranger to The Gallery and indeed the Trance Awards having helped host and present the show in previous years. Fresh from the huge Judgement Sunday End of Season party at The Gallery in October the Judge is back in the control seat for tonight’s celebration of all things trance. A long champion of all things new, good and exciting in dance music through his radio shows, endless touring and wide held respect Jules remains as excitable about playing records as the day he started and is a true legend fit for such occasions as tonight. Joining him will be the hugely popular and respected Thrillseekers, better known to his mother as Steve Helstrip; The Thrillseekers remain one of the biggest things in trance having been so instrumental in the early days with hits such as ‘Synaesthesia’ and ‘Dreaming of You’. Still very much at the cutting edge of the scene, new Thrillseekers material inevitably creates a huge buzz with recent hits including ‘The Last Time’ and ‘Waiting here for you’. The Nightmusic compilation series has cemented Steve’s position in the scene and has seen him tour every inch of the globe and remains one of the best compilations money can buy in our humble opinion! Fellow production powerhouse Lange joins the all-star cast of tonight’s party and is another worthy addition remaining a hugely influential figure in the scene. An exponent of some of the most seminal tracks in trance music’s history Lange enjoys the ability to constantly broaden and change his sound with his enormous ability as a producer and label boss. A great and well travelled DJ Lange always delivers the goods and we at The Gallery are looking forward to his first outing at the Ministry of Sound for us in that amazing Box room! Having made his debut for our new breed VACCINE room back in February at The Gallery; Sied van Riel has lived up to the hype and so much more going from strength to strength since then with a plethora of massive tracks and remixes and a DJ diary taking him worldwide. One of the next big things however you look at it, we are sure those who have not yet witnessed this producer extraordinaire will not be disappointed. Another name going from strength to strength is Claudia Cazacu who has seen the last 12 months take off big time for her. With appearances at the likes of Judgement Sunday, Inside Out as well as running a hugely successful imprint in the shape of Couture Records she is at the forefront of the new tech-trance talent and alongside Gallery resident Gavyn Mytchel rounds off the Box’s huge line-up with a bang!
Over in the Bar, Koolwaters drops by to host one of its sessions with headline action from Deepgroove and resident Marc Vedo, and Gallery supremo Tall Paul. Having enjoyed another massive summer in Ibiza hosting their parties at the legendary Eden the Koolwaters brand continues its all out assault on dance music and in the Deepgroove guys they have the perfect ammunition to do the business in the superb surroundings of the Bar at Ministry of Sound. Joined by regular Gallery face and production rising star Graeme Lloyd, Stuart Brooker also gets in on the action to warm things up. The Baby Box welcomes Funk Naughty with Adam Laurie, Phil Robinson, Chris Joy, Danny Wakeling, Oke and Ben Hooper whilst the Lounge welcomes Minimal Love with support from Cozzie, Damion Burbank B2B Rob Holmes, Sooney, Pollo and a live set from Nic Baird.

The end of the month is nigh and in true Gallery fashion it’s a biggun to wrap things up on Friday 28th November!! Sander van Doorn is in town and back at his London home of The Gallery over at Ministry of Sound. Not content with the Dutch superstar we have assembled fellow resident and leading lady of Faithless, Sister Bliss, new Slovenian talent Marcus Schossow, Germany’s next big thing Andrew Bennett, friend from over the Atlantic Steve Porter, new kid on the block Will Bailey and legendary talent Nicole Moudaber among many others for this huge end of month celebration. It just would not be the end of the month without a proper blow out!!
Sander van Doorn has emerged as one of the biggest DJs on the planet in a short space of time; it only seems a little while ago he was making his debut in the UK at The Gallery where he has remained a resident ever since. Having hosted his album launch earlier this year as well as Sander van Doorn month in April 2007 (where he played every week for 4 weeks!) we are proud that Sander calls us his home in London and he remains the truly down to earth lad we first met many moons ago. One thing that hasn’t changed in that time is his ability to smash the living daylights out of The Gallery main room and the world class sound system and surroundings of the Box at Ministry of Sound provide Sander with ample room to do just that. One of the highlights for us at this year’s SW4 festival if you have yet to witness the man who is Sander van Doorn then there is no better time or place then right here, right now! Do it!!!
Joining the bright young star is one of dance music’s biggest and most respected figures; resident at Turnmills even before The Gallery was dreamed up we are proud to welcome Sister Bliss once more to the hallowed ones and twos. A true legend of the scene, Bliss has been busy of late putting the finishing touches to the brand new Faithless album which will be unleashed in 2009 as well as releasing her recent mix compilation ’Nightmoves’. A DJ who never fails to impress, Bliss was recently interviewed at length by Pete Tong on his Radio 1 show where she waxed lyrical about The Gallery’s new home at The Ministry of Sound… praise indeed!! Returning for his third outing at The Gallery this year (after making his debut way back in March) Marcus Schossow touches back down fresh from a mad summer of worldwide touring, video podcast diaries and a release schedule to rival the biggest and best. We told you to watch this chap and boy oh boy were we right… one of the next big things Marcus is perfectly suited with his sound to do some serious audio damage in the Box alongside fellow producer wiz kid Andrew Bennett. Hailing from Germany and a consistent producer of huge tracks over the last few years Andrew is signed to legendary producer M.I.K.E’s Club Elite label and we are delighted to welcome him for his long overdue Gallery debut… bring it on!! Rounding off the Box is Gallery resident The Viceroy whilst Matt Weeks is charged with warming it up and getting the night off to the perfect start.
The Bar this week welcomes an array of talent including a welcome return visit for Steve Porter who smashed the place silly on his last outing. He will no doubt be showcasing his unique Porterhouse sound which has won him legions of fans the world over including A-list DJs such as Sasha and Paul van Dyk. Next up is rising talent Will Bailey, having played at The Gallery on several previous occasions the Birmingham based DJ/producer has continued to make serious waves. One half of production outfit ‘Twocker’ he continues to be a popular and in demand figure with an international gig diary stacked high and an ever growing discography of heavily supported house bombs! Check him out! No stranger to the Gallery family Nicole Moudaber has continued her rapid ascent as a DJ/producer with recent releases becoming staple tracks for the likes of Carl Cox, Steve Lawler, Hernan Cattaneo, Valentino Kanzyani, Ivan Smagghe, Ewan Pearson, DJ Vibe, Funk D'Void, Roger Sanchez and Danny Howells among many more. Recent remix work had included BFE’s ‘I Got Cash’ on Azuli, OrtZoka’s ‘Midnight’, and the seminal anthem ‘Muzik Xpress’ by X Press 2. Returning to the Bar tonight the line-up is rounded off with the addition of Mark Landragin on warm up duties.
The Baby Box welcomes Thirsty Disko and their line-up of DJ Chewy, DJ Moody, Eddy K, Jnr J. Fox, Darren Craig, Bachelor Burkle, Digital Pimpz and Da Real Tony Montana whilst the Lounge plays host to Filthy Dirty with Chris Smooth, Kids Of Funk, Ross Williams, Twista, Matt G, De–Hornet, Mike Younger, Ken-E-Boy and Rob Jackson.

With the force of Derrick May’s residency behind it, Hi-Tek Soul has quickly become one of the most exciting and anticipated events in our calendar. Bringing together the heroes of Techno past, present and future, this party showcases the breadth of the music and has become a platform for new talent to flourish. For November, brave visionary and founding father Derrick May will be joined by the great refresher of Deep House Quentin Harris, who brought a new Detroit inspired energy to the genre. In the Bar disco kids Harri & Dom play alongside Chibuku wunderkind Dom Chung. Baby Box is hosted by the legendary Faith collective and the Lounge by our very own Ministry of Sound radio.

December is here, the countdown to Xmas has begun and over at The Gallery we’re well excited about the month ahead. Not only have we got three massive Friday night parties to round off the year, but then we’re hosting our very own New Years Eve extravaganza at the Ministry of Sound. What a way to round off our first year at our new home and we think you’ll agree that there truly is something for everyone in December. Don’t be shy, get your dancing shoes on and come on down…. You know it makes sense!!!
So to kick start the month in question we have a Gallery line-up of gigantic proportions on Friday 5th December. Having proved a sure fire hit on his previous outings for us at The Gallery including the huge Clockwork Orange Birthday in March at Turnmills, we’re proud to present the return to The Gallery for none other than Boy George. A true hero of the scene, the Culture Club star blew everyone away on his past two visits to us at The Gallery including live impromptu vocals!!! A DJs DJ, George has forged a career so rich in details we simply don’t know where to begin - suffice to say that in the Top 100 Greatest Briton’s poll conducted by the BBC Mr Boy George was 46!!! Seb Fontaine also makes his return to The Gallery, now as a bi-monthly guest. Seb has proved time after time his worth this year smashing the main room with a plethora of sets whether it be early sets at the Global Underground launch or late ones at Ministry of Sound’s 17th Birthday. A firm favourite with The Gallery faithful and someone who knows Ministry better than most! We’re delighted to have Seb on board for this line-up. Joining him will be Gallery resident Gavyn Mytchel who’s wowed us time after time in the Box with his intelligent, warm up sounds doing the business week in week out. Where he finds time to tour Japan, Bahrain, Dubai, Malta, Cyprus and many more international jet-setting destinations we will never know.!! David Newsum rounds off the main room for this Gallery par excellence!
The Bar is hosted by one of the success stories of this years Gallery. Mass Recordings has continued to impress us here at The Gallery not just with their excellent output label wise, but providing some of the best rooms this year. Previous headliners this year have included Twocker, Micky Slim and this month we are delighted to have Jon Carter back at The Gallery for a long overdue appearance in the Bar. Jon is part of the UK old skool alongside the likes of Justin Robertson and Lottie. Part acid house, part techno, Jon’s built up a solid global reputation for delivering the goods time after time, and he’ll undoubtedly do the business yet again this week! Joining him will be Mass main man Kieron Brindley and regular faces Lui Florez, Trigger and Williams & Du Bois. Elsewhere on the night, please go wild and crazy for the Lose Control gang who host the Baby Box, whilst our big faves Plastic Fondu do another excellent turn in the Lounge.

The run up to Xmas continues and this week boy oh boy do we have some treats in store for you!! On Friday 12th December, we welcome a return to The Gallery for one of our all-time faves Marco V, who’ll be joined by leading man of prog and long time Gallery veteran Dave Seaman, whilst trance stalwart Matt Hardwick gets in on the act. Berwick Street Sessions return to host the Bar with Timo Garcia and special guest Onionz. Phew!
Marco V is no stranger to gracing us with his presence over the festive periods having spent the last few years appearing at our now legendary last Friday in December Gallery’s. Normally falling a few days before New Years Eve, these have gone down in the annuals of The Gallery as some of the biggest and best nights we’ve ever done. With a change of venue and the prospect of doing our very own massive New Years Eve event this year, we didn’t want to miss out on getting Marco over for the festive period. With his arsenal of tunage that does defy belief, Marco is one of the most versatile and genre warping DJs out there. Having already raised the roof on numerous visits to the Box this year (including a superb 3 hour set at the beginning of September), the Dutchman has been busy in the studio of late not just with his own material but with a wealth of excellent new releases on his superb ‘In Charge’ label... so we’re braced for another memorable visit this time round! Joining him will be one of The Gallery’s longest serving servants and one of the true prog DJs of all time. Dave Seaman continues to tour the world, appearing at every leading festival and clubnight whilst running his excellent ‘Audiotherapy’ imprint and still finding time to lark about with his infectious smile and charm wherever and whenever he goes! Not fully fit on his last visit to us (suffering from chicken pox!!!!) Dave is back and raring to go for this visit and will provide the perfect musical progression in the Box. Matt Hardwick continues to impress the world over and this year even found time to launch his very own record label ‘Kill the Lights’. A regular face at The Gallery he rocked the box on several outings this year and will be the perfect man to take it up a notch following Marco for the usual hands in the air Gallery moment! Rounding off the main room line-up is Gallery resident Gavyn Mytchel and closing set boy done good The Viceroy.
The Bar welcomes the return of the Berwick Street Sessions and main man Timo Garcia who’ll be putting in a 3 Hour Set to mark the occasion. Having smashed the bar with previous visits and always ones to bring a bevy of cutting edge DJs to headline proceedings such as Lutzenkirchen, Swen Weber and Ricky Stone this month Onionz is their headline guest jetting in from the USA especially for the occasion. Onionz is a heavy part of the NYC scene alongside fellow party starter Joeski – who both played regularly at Turnmills for The Gallery. From house to techno, breaks to disco... it's always been about diversity for Onionz and he’ll go down a storm in the lively Box this week! Data Transmission guru Ben Gomori is charged with warm up duties, whilst the Baby Box welcomes Glory Hole and the Lounge is hosted by London City Soul.

Hoorah... the legendary Xmas Party is here and in true Gallery tradition and style we’ve pulled out all the stops to bring you, our Gallery faithful, one of the biggest and best line-ups witnessed on these shores in 2008. Headlined by the world’s No.1 DJ, Armin van Buuren and Gallery resident supremo (and the newly appointed world no.8 DJ) Markus Schulz... this year’s Gallery Xmas Party is literally bigger than ever before and will undoubtedly be a proper Roadblock with all the trimmings!!
Armin van Buuren has had another one of those years in 2008. Clinching the world No.1 position in the DJ Mag poll for a second year running the lovable chap from the Netherlands has toured every known corner of the globe appearing at every leading festival and club worth its salt. Those that can cast their minds back to the hazy days of late April will remember Armin helped us launch The Gallery at its brand new home of Ministry of Sound appearing as our birthday headliner to one of the biggest crowds Gaunt Street has ever witnessed. Also our headline guest at The Gallery arena at this years SW4 festival, Armin has smashed it up wherever and whenever and this exclusive London appearance must rank as a special early Xmas treat for us all!! Markus Schulz has long been a favourite with us here at The Gallery and in May this year we proudly showed him off as our new resident; joining the ranks of Tall Paul, Sister Bliss, Sander Van Doorn, Hernan Cattaneo and many more. Markus has gone onto raise the roof with each and every appearance at The Gallery, and in a recent interview on Kiss 100 Markus proclaimed The Gallery at Ministry of Sound as his favourite club in the entire world! Also a guest at our massive Gallery arena at SW4 this year, Markus will be more than welcome at his first Gallery Xmas party playing a special 3 Hour Set alongside his close friend and mentor Armin van Buuren. With his trademark sound, enthusiasm behind the decks and being back at his favourite night in the world this looks set to be the perfect warm up to Xmas. Rounding off the Box line-up is the two long serving Gallery residents who have continually rocked the main room time after time, Gavyn Mytchel on warm up duties with the closing set provided by The Viceroy.
The Bar is an all out Gallery party this week with main man Steve Lee doing what he does best. Steve has continually rocked The Gallery from day one when he was made one of the first residents some 14 years ago. Having forged a reputation as somewhat of a legend with The Gallery faithful down the years, this year has been no exception with Steve taking the Bar by the scruff of the neck and setting the standard for every other DJ to match. As he and us are full of the Xmas cheer Steve will be dropping a very special 3 hour extended set to get us all in the mood!! Joining him will be regular guest and producer Graeme Lloyd who continues his run of good form and Steve Richards on warm up duties. The Baby Box is ho-ho-hosted by Future Friday Feeling while the Subbass DJ Academy confirm the Christmas spirit in the Lounge. Just don’t forget your mistletoe....
