Having spent the last 18 months carving out a stellar reputation with a series of high-end remixes for the likes of AlunaGeorge and Oliver $, Tchami has announced he is to debut on Ministry of Sound with single "Promesses"
The French DJ/producer came to prominence after uploading his bootleg remix of Janet Jackson's "Go Deep" to his SoundCloud in 2013. Further remixes came in the form of AlunaGeorge's smash hit "You Know You Like It", Mercer's "Turn It Up" and Oliver $ and Jimi Jules' "Pushing On", which attracted support from tastemakers as diverse as A-Trak, Dillon Francis and Skrillex.
Remixes aside, Tchami also released his debut house cut "Untrue" via Spinnin' Records in April, which went on rack up well over a million plays on YouTube alone. "Promesses" sees Tchami team up with British vocalist Kaleem Taylor and was originally picked up via A-Trak's Fool's Gold Records. The single has now been revamped with newly-worked vocal edits and polished bass licks to inject a fresh dose of crossover appeal.
Lucidly simple in it's construction, as all good dance records should be, Taylor's distinct vocal textures compliment deep, thick-edged bass and shimmering atmospheric layers, whilst timely instrumental breakdowns allow for the track's undeniable swing and energy to really make it's impact felt.
