The “producer’s producer” releases breakout No.1 single on Ministry of Sound
Before 2012 Duke Dumont was known to DJs as a “producer’s producer,” due to his reputation for creating little known underground bangers that would get any dancefloor jumping. In 2013, Duke became the one to watch when his breakthrough single “Need U (100%)” held the No.1 spot in the Official UK Singles Chart for two weeks.
“Need U (100%)” featured 18 year-old starlet A*M*E* on singing duties, fresh from being tipped in the BBC’s Sound of 2013 poll. With a chunky low-end, funky stabs and silky vocals, "Need U (100%)" is an early 90’s house classic couched in 2013 techno techniques. Co-written by teenage wünderkind MNEK (who recently sung on Rudimental’s "Spoons" with Syron) the Duke released "Need U (100%)" on his newly minted Blasé Boys Club label in association with Ministry of Sound.
