We're not messing about in 2022, kicking off on day 1 with the biggest techno DJ in the world, the mighty Ben Klock!
This New Year's Day we're dedicating the entire club to the dark sounds of Berlin techno. Klockworks boss, Ben will be taking over the UK's best sound system for an extended set exploring the full spectrum of techno.
Ben has held down an infamous residency at Berghain since 2005 and it's his storied relationship with the notorious temple of techno that has provided the backdrop for much of his career. Known as a master of the marathon set, Ben's knowledge of techno, and how to work a techno crowd, is unparalleled.
Though known primarily as a DJ, his production work is impressive in its own right. Primarily released on Berghain's Ostgut Ton, his tracks have become landmarks in the label's history. 2009’s “Dawning”, the first of his collaborations with Marcel Dettmann, kickstarted the Ostgut Tin and remains a stand-out track in its discography.
“Subzero”, taken from his Before One EP, has become a signature tune however, his 2009 album, One, best captures Klock’s talents as a producer. Still today, this seminal record re-writes what a techno long player can achieve.
This New Year's Day will be Ben's long-awaited debut at Ministry of Sound, with our March 2019 show postponed due to lockdown, we've waited nearly two years for this one, and needless to say, it's going to be a big night!
Joining Ben in The Box is Manchester's finest, Willow. Willow exploded onto the scene when her track "Feel Me" was included by Move D in his Fabric 74 mix and ever since then the multi-genre maestro has been making herself known across the techno, house, and broken beat scenes.
Over in The 103 the pan-continental sounds of Ryan Elliot will be bringing you the very best techno from both Detroit and Berlin. The Berghain and Panorama Bar resident is known for his skillfully blended sets and expansive music taste
