Tuff Questions is our series where we ask artists a series of incredibly difficult questions.

This week on the toughest interview in dance music we've got club regular, Kungs, stepping up to the Tuff Questions. Known for his global super-hit "This Girl", Kungs has become one of the most in-demand proponents of Tropical House.

In 2016 he won two French Grammys for Best Electro Album of The Year and Best French DJ categories, beating out incredibly tough competition from countrymen like David Guetta, DJ Snake and more.

Kungs has been spending lockdown working on new music, with new single "Dopamine" out now.

Definitely Goldfisch by Kolsch. That’s badass AF.

Mysterious - grown up - messy hair 😉

Best way to cure a hangover?

I go straight to my recording studio because for some reason, I always end up with weird or crazy inspirations...

Daft Punk - "Make love"

How do you describe your job to your grandmother?

I play music for young people 😂

What’s the most expensive thing you own?

It’s going to be a very generic answer but it’s probably a watch... To tell you the truth, I never buy anything expensive because I know I’ll lose it somewhere...!

What does your music smell like?

Thé noir from Le Labo, which is my perfume!

You can only ever DJ B2B with one other person for the rest of your life, who is it?

With my best friend, Victor.

If you had your own nightclub, what would you call it, and what’s the dress code?

Club Azur, of course! And the dress code would be: only 80s shirts.

Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon

Young Françoise Hardy - you have to google her!

The green cloud, that’s funny!

What’s your secret weapon to rescue a dancefloor?

Daft Punk - "One More Time"

You’re forming a cheesy pop group in the vein of 5ive, Steps, Spice Girls etc. You must all sing and do choreographed dance routines. Which other 3 DJs do you want in your band?

My 3 pals would be Fisher, Martin Solveig and Salvatore Ganacci.

6 = 2(x+2) what is x?

1

Why do lots of DJs wear masks? What’s the deal with that?

Because most of us, we’re not as hot as your regular pop singer 😂 Let’s face the truth, usually people know our names and our songs, but they’re having a hard time to physically identify us...

Where is the strangest place you’ve DJed?

It was one of my first gigs in Norway. It was organized by a guy completely bat-shit crazy, in a house with 10 people. To get there you had to take a boat, and on the next day, the boat guy forgot to pick us up...

Where’s the afters?

No need for an after, I remember my last gigs before the quarantine, I played 8h DJ sets...
