Even after a decade of Aly & Fila at Ministry of Sound, their most recent June performance is, without doubt, THE standout – going all night long to deliver from that first beat to the very last.
It was a masterful display, which began deep and chunky before gradually showcasing trance in its various forms. Our bar staff- and security - could be seen dancing along. Such was the quality of music on offer.
Aly & Fila return for ‘the second coming’ in 2019 after just three months – an unprecedented timescale which affirms the mutual respect between Aly & Fila and The Gallery itself.
Ahead of that Aly & Fila select five tracks perfect for The Box and in sequence to represent the musical progression of their open to close.
Paul Thomas - "Allegro"
Aly & Fila: This is one of our favourite tracks from our friend Paul Thomas on his UV label. It’s been supported by all of the biggest artists from Gorgon City to Camelphat. It’s high energy underground house which is perfect for The Box and early on in our OTC sets.
The Noble Six - "Ocean Planet"
Towards the middle of our open to close sets we start to play a bit more trance. The Noble Six have been producing some unbelievable tracks and we were so lucky to have this one signed on FSOE. It has such a beautiful melody, a long breakdown and of course that important euphoric drop.
Aly & Fila - "It’s All About The Melody"
This is the title track from our sixth studio artist album It’s All About The Melody which will be released at the end of this year. As the title suggests, we wanted to make not only this track, but a whole album devoted to unique trance melodies. It’s been a staple in my sets for a few months and we are always amazed at the reaction we get when we play it.
Factor B feat. Cat Martin - "Crashing Over"
Factor B is another really up and coming DJ and producer. This collaboration with Cat Martin was one of the best selling tracks from our label this year and it’s easy to see why when you listen to it. For us it is the full trance package and never fails to get people going on the dancefloor towards the end of our sets.
Liam Wilson & Corin Bayley - "Unifier"
Liam Wilson is such a versatile producer capable of making uplifting trance or deep and dark techno. This is an example of the latter which we think will work great on the dance floor at Ministry.
