Ahead of his headline set at Together we get to know the Danish DJ.
Martin Jensen, how’s it going! How has the New Year been for you?
Hey there! Thanks a lot! 2019 has already treated me well and I’m currently gearing up for a busy February!
You’ve been all over the globe in 2018. How could you summarise the past 12 months? Any standout or first-time moments?
I don’t like to pick favourite moments because honestly, I cherish each and every time I get to go out and perform. A few memorable mentions would, however, be my big Danish summer tour, Hurricane and Southside Festival in Germany, Arenal Sound in Spain and many, many more!
On that note, it’s fair to say that you’re now an international star. How does it feel to travel around the world playing shows to fans?
It’s still very unreal but I try to live in the moment and just enjoy each second of it.
What are you more looking forward to this year?
This year will feature more music than ever, bigger shows and bigger productions. I’m so excited to show everyone what I’ve been working on these past months!
After a massive year for Martin Jensen singles, what kind of music can fans look forward to in 2019? Any surprises?
I can’t reveal it yet, but I have a big collaboration coming up. This is definitely one to look out for.
You're kicking off 2019 with your biggest ever headline London show at the Ministry of Sound. How does it feel to be heading back to London?
It feels amazing! I’ve been wanting to go back for a long time but waited for the right moment. To come back and headline Ministry of Sound is truly a dream come true, I can’t wait.
What can fans expect from you on the night?
I always bring my best possible show to each performance I do. In London, fans can expect a night to remember. It’s going to be very special. The collaboration with Together has so far been nothing but amazing, it feels great having them on board for this.
What can you tell us about Mike Williams and D.O.D?
They’re both amazing artists. I’m super excited to have them on the line-up and I’m sure they’ll get the crowd going!
We’re really excited to see Lucas & Steve heading down as well for a very special guest appearance. Do you find playing with other big names in electronic music enhances your personal performance or creativity?
Hands down my biggest inspirations are Martin Garrix and The Chainsmokers, but I’m leaning more towards The Chainsmokers at the moment. I was fortunate enough to perform with them during their gig in the Royal Arena in Copenhagen and I was blown away by their performance. The production, the setup and professionalism they brought to this show was definitely a very inspirational moment for me.
Have you got any favourite things to do in London when you’re not behind the decks? (When you have time that is!)
I’ll be shooting content for my upcoming single while I’m in London and visiting some of my favourite restaurants. If you’re in London, try the sushi and make sure to go sightseeing. There are endless things to do!
