Summer's here and with it an excuse to party all day as well as all night, these are some of this summer's best day parties
30th May and 6th June, The Old Baths & Cre8 Galleries
Newbies of the scene, Solar, are kicking off a summer of weekly day parties from 30th May. With a DC-10 style hangar providing the indoor space and the outdoor space coming replete with a beach, jacuzzi, pizza parlour, jerk shack and carvery(!) this seems like a pretty safe bet to dance away a Saturday afternoon.
14th June, Oval Space
They’re back! The Black Atlantic boys are returning with their ‘no phones on the dancefloor’ party to Hackney’s glorious Oval Space bringing with them daytime funk, ping pong, street food and the best inner city vibes this side of Brooklyn, where Mister Sunday first found its feet as a top choice for the dance loving thinking man.
26th June, Ministry of Sound
We're opening up our court yard to some of the heaviest DnB and hottest BBQ treats. This one won't be for the faint-hearted, so come ready to party! As an added bonus, every attendee will get a free copy of Drum&BassArena Summer Rewind to keep the vibes going all summer long.
4th July iCAN Studios
Troupe descent on iCAN studios for a dessert island disco in early July. Welcoming hyped-as-hell new talent Murlo and providing gourmet street food, cocktails and glitter, this is definitely one for the calendar.
11th June, Saltwater Bar and Restaurant, Nottingham
You know you’re in good company at a party whose previous headliners have included Dan Shake and Auntie Flo; 11th June will be no different, as main artery in the beating heart of Detroit’s music scene will be heading to Nottingham in the form of house master Andres. Sure to bring his soulful vibes to the roofs and skies of Nottingham, book now.
20th June, Ministry of Sound
Thought we only put nights on under cover of darkness? Think again. June 20th will see probably the UK’s most knowledgeable man in music, Gilles Peterson, return to Ministry for our first day party of the season. Joined by sound system legend Aba Shanti and accompanied by magicians, Caribbean food and the strongest vibes in South London, come and join us to mediate on dub weight.
27th June, Studio 338
Northern behemoth Sankeys, celebrates twenty years in the game with a mini festival in East London's Studio 338. While it does seem strange that they'd host their 20th outside of Manchester, there's no arguing with the line up. This is probably your only chance to see Danny Tengalia on a terrace outside of Ibiza this summer.
5th July, TBA
For five years now Half Baked have been masters of the Sunday day party. Each edition sees the half baked crew find a unique location in the capital and turn it into a dance music wonderland. While the locations are always impressive, the music policy is not to be discounted with a wide range of underground and established talent booked over the past year.
