Already a formidable and unique chic DJ outfit; LadyBugz are a London based, all female band of DJs with plenty of vinyl platter and vocal banter to boot. Their turntablist and vinyl-love journey started out back in autumn 2008, when armed with an exciting agenda LadyBugz became commited to pushing ahead the many underground hybrid sounds of electronic dance, as well as encompassing the finest elements and paying homage to Black music of yesteryear.
From Broken Beats to Disco, Nu Jazz, DubStep to Detroit, tech house, Boogie, Funk, Gospel and Jazz music, the Ladyz know how to pump the bass, bang out the beats and rhythms through speaker boxes at the hippest parties, clubs and festivals - most notably V2, WorldWide, Southport Weekender, Big Chill and IMW are among the best of them, in addition to providing club sets at prime London venues including East Village, Plastic People, Hidden, Ministry Of Sound, Neighbourhood, Club Colosseum through to various international gigs, it’s clear LadyBugz continue to spread their dexterous DJ wings and MC prose upon loyal and inquisitive party troopers everywhere they go.
Between the quartet: Katie Barber, Marcia DaVinylMC, Miss Callis, T. Maronie these Ladyz have flexed their talents within television, radio, worked at record shops, independent record labels, worked in journalism – you name it they’ve done it. With a number of studio productions and collaborations in the pipeline, lots of thrilling projects emerging over the coming months, the ever-brilliant Ladyz are a savvy, tour de force and the darling stars of electronica dance in ascent.
