John Jones – Hed Kandi Biog – June 2007

It was a natural progression for John Jones to start manning the decks at the age of 15 after collecting specialist dance (house) music for a previous 3 years. I was influenced by the likes of Masters at Work, MK, David Morales, Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez and  Mood II Swing.

I linked up with Hed Kandi in 2001 and in the last six years have had the pleasure of touring as a resident worldwide to cities such as New York, Sydney, Christchurch, San Francisco, Bogotá (Columbia), Miami, Reykjavik, Moscow, Ibiza, Majorca, Marbella, Glasgow, Dublin and Barcelona (with the stand outs having to be David Morales club Stereo in Montreal which was mind-blowing and also playing New Years Day @ Gatecrasher with Erick Morillo in 2006), alongside our residencies in the UK and presenting the Stereo Sushi Radio Show on MOS Radio and assisting on the compilation of the Stereo Sushi CD’s.

I can honestly say that I am still having the time of my life at the moment. Its what I have worked and strived to achieve and through Hed Kandi we are giving people up front in your face quality house music, whether it be deep underground funk to uplifting commercial vocal dance….. thats what Kandi is to me, accessible stylish house music as a product that looks, smells and tastes good, for people that love music.

On the production front, I am one half of “Beaver & Jones” alongside Dylan Rhymes. We have released tracks on Lot49, which have appeared on Hed Kandi’s “Twisted Disco” compilations, aswell as numerous remixes including DONS – Big Fun (Data) and Pete Walshe – Gonna Miss Me (Nervous)

Kelly Marie   Hed Kandi Biog – June 2007

Kelly Marie is recognized for her Soulful, Funky and Uplifting House sets, where she will also blend in her Latin, Afro ,Disco and Electro Influences. She has always had a passion for music, and grew up in a musical background. With her dad in the business and her mums influence of the late 70s Boogie and 80s soul, Kelly Marie was destined to spin her tunes.

Her real Vinyl addiction began in 1994 and by 1997 she had hit the club world and has since let her passion jet her all around the world, From open air events in Albania, glitzy clubs in Italy to Full moon party's in Thailand, she has become fully recognized for her expressive Energy and uplifting vibe that she transmits straight to the dance floor.

Kelly Marie continues to rock crowds in some of the top venues and club promotions in and around the UK and guests abroad regularly.

With her current residency for Hed Kandi Where she has spent this summer as a resident at El Divino Ibiza, she also plays regularly at Floridita London and has been one rulin' resident DJs for Trade @ Turnmills for over four years now. Internationally she plays in Italy regularly, for So Delicious Milan, Seven apples, Hennessey Turin and Club Pinetta in Milano Marittima to name a few.

Kelly Marie is also involved with live acts and puts the music together as well as performing live with Scala (an all female string quartet) and the It girls

Her vibe is Funky versatile and from inspiration from her favorite artists and love of boogie, Latin and soul it was only a matter of time she would start her own productions. Under the Soul 8 Banner, she has teamed up with Danny Keith and other talented individuals alike to capture the uplifting vibe her audiences are so accustomed to. The release of Supa Bad has had a great support and continues to bring joy to the dance floors. Kelly Marie has collaborated with the It Girls that choreograph a complete show around her productions performing Supa bad, Cloud 9 and Dance all live. She has also solo projects with KosmetiQ ( Redmoon) with forth coming tracks.

When Kelly Marie is not rocking dance floors, hosting radio shows or tinkling in the studio, she is training in Martial Arts as a third Dan for Tang So Do.. She has won Three world championships, is in the UK team and competed in Malaysia...
