He is resident DJ for one of the biggest clubs in London. He has one of the most respected radio shows in the UK. And within one year of producing music, he gets signed up to one of the biggest record labels in the world. At 26 years old, Gavyn Mytchel literally has the world at his feet.
Gavyn's meteoric rise to prominence has been fuelled by his incredibly successful residency at The Gallery, alongside fellow residents Tall Paul and John Askew. Gavyn was recently tipped as one of dance music's "Future Heroes" by none other than Mixmag, this has led to the recent signing from Mostwanted, one of the UK's most high profile DJ agencies who look after the likes of Marco V, John OO Fleming, Anne Savage, Scott Project and Tomcraft.
Away from the DJ circuit Gavyn has gained recognition in the studio under the production name of 'Mnemonic', his very first track 'Insurrection' was snapped up by Armada's Captivating Sounds.
Gavyn's follow up dancefloor smash is "Forbidden", a full-on tech-trance monster that truly reflects his driving dancefloor sound that has made him such a favourite at Turnmills. Having made its way into the hands of Duty Free Records, Forbidden was instantly signed up for sister label "Intensive" after only one playing and was released in February 2004. Up-and-coming producers Smith & Pledger were asked to do the remix and the track's being caned by Ferry Corsten, Tall Paul, Eddie Halliwell and Thrillseekers alike.
Later this summer, Gavyn will be releasing his Vortex EP "Dura Mater & K Complex" out on Intensive Records on 2nd August 2004. With the buzz surrounding Gavyn's first 4 tracks, the remix offers have been coming in. This Winter 2004, Gavyn will release his first two remixes for artists Albert Vorne and Stowers & Young.
When not in busy in the studio, Gavyn can be heard on the radio either presenting his own fortnightly "Gallery Show" on Ministry of Sound Radio or providing guest mixes for John Askew's Kiss FM show or Fergie's Radio 1 show. Look out for a hot mix from Gavyn on Paul Kershaw's Galaxy Show later on this year.
