Rising Australian remix outfit
TV Rock are hoping to lift their profile even further following the release of their new single,
The Others, this week.
If you haven’t heard it yet, the track crosses electro sounds with vocals from The Dukes of Windsor in an indie-meets-dance collaboration that came about thanks to the TV Rock guys knowing the band.
The fusion of dance and indie means it translates well in both clubs and on the radio and is expected to chart well after huge success in the Australian charts which saw TV Rock scale the top ten.
On the PhoneWe spoke to one half of the TV boys, producer Grant Smillie, on the phone from down under.

He describes the track to us as sounding like “the Scissor Sisters with nuts” and thinks “it’s the best of the indie sound stuff that’s been going around, with the electro big club stuff.”
Radio One’s Pete Tong has already given the track the thumbs up after it featured on The Essential Mix which bodes well for Grant and production partner Ivan Gough.
Grant and Ivan won two Aria awards (the Aussi equivalent of The Brits) in 2006 for their their hit
Flaunt It and are planning to visit the UK in both February and August next year, with the chance of potentially catching them DJ at Ministry of Sound.
