Rewind back to Chicago circa 1984 and something quite incredible was happening, rhythms were being moulded on newly affordable drum machines into 4-to-the-floor beat masterpieces and ‘Underground dance music’ was born.

Fast forward 30 years and underground dance music lives on, be it in an ever evolving musical landscape full of every genre imaginable.

Today however, the popularity of underground House & Techno is at its peak with festivals such as Outlook, Hideout, Exit, Sonar, Awakenings, Eastern Electrics and Lost & Found becoming increasing popular amongst commercial audiences, further blurring the lines between underground and mainstream.

It’s therefore time we paid tribute to the tracks making huge waves across the underground, and on the 14th of August we bring you an exclusive upfront 2CD mix of this year’s biggest weapons making waves in Ibiza, clubland and beyond, expertly curated by Ministry of Sound.

We kick off Disc 1 with a sprinkling of Deep & Tech House featuring huge tracks from the likes of Dusky, Hot Since 82, Steve Lawler, Claude VonStroke, Shiba San and Claptone alongside the monster ‘Low Frequency’ from Denney and future hit ‘Rumble’ by KDA & Shadow Child.

Things then get dark and romantic on Disc 2 featuring a stellar selection of Techno from critically acclaimed artists such as Caribou, George Fitzgerald, Maceo Plex, Seth Troxler, Dixon, Âme, Sasha and Kölsch.
