Everything you missed from the world of dance music this weekend

Jackmaster Speaks Out About Misogyny In The Industry

Over the weekend Scottish selector, Jackmaster, took to Twitter to call out industry sexism. The DJ, who was in Bali at the time, began with "tonight was the 1st time that the plight and/or prejudice surrounding females in the music industry truly hit home and resonated with me. It is way waaay too easy to be ignorant to the fact as a male DJ in a privileged position. There is something very wrong here. To hear the things that I heard said about females in the industry tonight were fucking not acceptable. I apologise for my prior ignorance and silence on the subject. That stops now."

Nickelodeon Adds EDM Category To Kid's Choice Awards

As an example of the further babyfication of EDM, Nickelodeon have just announced the genre as a new category in their annual Kid's Choice Awards. The awards are aimed at a similar demographic as Fox's Teen Choice Awards. The acts in the running for the inaugural EDM award are Skrillex, Martin Garrix, The Chainsmokers, Calvin Harris, Major Lazer, Zedd and DJ Snake.

Lego Robot Band Cover Kraftwerk

You might not have heard of the Toa Mata Band before, but keep an ear out, because these guys are going to be huge! The band have previously covered Daft Punk's "Da Funk" and now their turning their bricks to Kraftwerk. We think you'll agree that never has the combo of lego and electro looked so good.
