MK Might've Just Discovered Alien Life On Earth

Also Lidl enters the turntable market and Boiler Room permanently shutdown their chatroom.

Everything you missed form the world of dance music this weekend

MK Might Have Spotted A UFO

Marc Kinchen is a man of many talents. Not only is he a prolific DJ, producer, and remixer, but he can now add accomplished UFO hunter to his ever bulging résumé. The American DJ, who is currently on a UK tour, took to Snapchat to post a video of what appears to be an unidentified flying object moving through the grey autumn sky. Comments on Marc's Facebook page appear to explain the object as a smoke ring, though we're pretty confident this is proof that aliens do exist.

Boiler Room Have Shutdown Their Chatroom

After a high profile incident, Boiler Room have decided to permanently shutdown their chatroom function. The streaming platform said they would be addressing bigotry in their chatroom after Glaswegian DJ Nightwave was subject to abusive comments during her appearance in June. Over the weekend Boiler Room tweeted the above message, which was followed with "everyone throw your toxic abuse at the DJs on Facebook instead, it's where all the cool kids are these days so we hear".

Lidl Is Selling Discount Turntables

With the vinyl resurgence in full effect, more and more people are looking into getting their own turntable. But with most systems costing hundreds pf pounds, it's become something of a privileged pursuit. Discount supermarket, Lidl, want to change all that with the launch of this cheap-as-chips turntable. For just £49.99 you can spin your favourite wax and spend the extra dough on some rare white labels.

You Can Buy A Statue Of Berghain Bouncer, Sven Marquardt

Speaking of things you can buy... Berlin sculptor, Marina Schmiechen, has released a range of dance music inspired statutes. Along with models of iconic artists such as Kraftwerk and Paul Kalkbrenner and David Bowie, you can also get your hands on everyone's favourite bouncer, Sven Marquardt. Just imagine how much fun you can have using your Sven statue to reject friends from your next dinner party! If you've got €900 burning a hole in your pocket, you can buy your very own Sven here.
