Rumours Suggest Daft Punk Will Tour In 2017
Speculation that Daft Punk will go on tour next year is hitting fever pitch. The act which have only completed two world tours, are widely believed to be announcing a third tour for next year. The main fan theory stems from the fact the duo have previously toured in 1997 and 2007, making 2017 the next logical step. The robots have naturally remained quiet about the speculation, but further fire was added to the rumours this weekend when a leaked (but unverified) Lollapalooza Chile lineup named them as headliners. Fans did some more digging and have found a page buried in the back end of the Lollapalooza website with Daft Punk named in the url. Whether all this is a coincidence is anyone's guess, but one thing's for sure, the rumours of a Daft Punk return will persist until well into next year.
Annie Mac Speaks Out In Support Of Nightclubs
In an interview with The Evening Standard the first lady of dance music has spoken out in support of Britain's nightclubs, stating: “For me clubbing is classless, it’s a celebration, a communion of people on one dancefloor all experiencing the same thing. It’s the most primal thing we know as human beings: people dancing around a fire to a drum. There’s something hugely celebratory about it. One of the reasons I came to London was because of its huge multiculturalism and the fact you could go clubbing and meet someone of any background, colour or creed and bond with them over music. A big element of youth culture is dying.” Hopefully if enough figureheads speak out, people will start to take strives to protect our nightlife.
Ibiza Rocks Hotel Has Music License Suspended
The open air Ibizan venue has had its music license suspended after it failed to comply with San Antonio noise regulations. During an inspection on 24th July, authorities found the venue to be in violation of local noise pollution laws and that the stage had been moved and was now blocking a fire escape. The suspension came into affect on 14th September and will remain in place until the venue meets compliance conditions. Two scheduled events have had to be moved to Ibiza Rocks bar due to the suspension.
