Local newspaper Diario De Ibiza has reported that Amnesia’s owner is being held by police after an early morning raid
Update: Spanish police have returned to Amnesia Ibiza to search the venue for a second time, even after spending a reported 17 hours on the premises yesterday. Police have apparently also raided other properties in Ibiza and Barcelona as they investigate "alleged crimes against the Treasury". - via Diario De Ibiza
The joint raid was staged at 8 o'clock on Tuesday morning by Spanish police and tax authorities, who apparently brought dogs onto the premises of one of the largest clubs in the world.
Diario Del Ibiza has speculated that those arrested include club owner Martin Ferrer, as well as his son and the club’s accountant, on account of money laundering. More speculation comes from El Mundo, a national newspaper who have run the news with an anti-drug raid headline.
Amnesia have yet to release a statement, however their Twitter feed indicates that its Together show, which features Chase and Status, Gorgon City and Preditah, will still be going ahead.
It's not the first time that the club has come under scrutiny from law enforcers, as its constant breach of licensing times led the local council to enforce a 6.30 closing time for all super clubs this season. Hopefully this news does not come as another nail in Amnesia's coffin.
