Erick Morillo Details Addiction Struggles At IMS

The Ministry favourite discusses his issue at the International Music Summit, Ibiza

Erick Morillo has spoken out about his previous addiction to alcohol and ketamine

Speaking to Pete Tong at the International Music Summit in Ibiza, the 45 year old DJ confessed that the pressure of not being at the top turned him to self-medicate his unhappiness with substances.

“My ego couldn’t take that I wasn’t the top dog anymore” he confessed earlier at a discussion where it was revealed that injecting ketamine had led for Morillo to nearly have his arm amputated.

He spoke of other low points that included the break-up of a marriage and his permanent ban from British Airways, something that happened due his leaving of supposed substances in an aeroplane bathroom.

The conversation has been lauded as “the bravest panel in IMS’s nine years” and it comes just as Morillo releases a brand new track in collaboration with Eli & Fur, "Thunder and Lightning".

Erick Morillo will be headlining our brand new festival, M25, where he’ll be headlining. Be sure to get your tickets here.
