Hardwell Cancels Antwerp Show

The ongoing terrorist threat in Belgium is also casting doubts on Tomorrowland.

The concert was due to take place on Friday 13th May

After the Belgium terrorist attacks in March, the country has been on high alert with a number of police operations underway to root out domestic terror cells. Due to the heightened security thread, questions have been raised about the viability of hosting large scale music events within the country over the coming months.

With Tomorrowland already talking about heightened security measures, it seems that concern might be so high, that events are forced to cancel. That's what happened today as ticket holder for the Antwerp date of Hardwell's United We Are tour received an email informing them the show had been cancelled.

The sold out show was due to take place on Friday 13th May, but organisers have now backed out of hosting the event. Hardwell has yet to make an offficial statement but you can read the email sent to fans below.

To our great regret we have to announce that I AM Hardwell United We Are show in Antwerp, which was scheduled on Friday, May 13th, is canceled. The prevailing atmosphere surrounding the recent events in Brussels, we have decided that it is not the right time or place to host this event. The I AM Hardwell United We Are World Tour concludes with a final European show we will announce at a later stage. People who had a ticket I AM Hardwell Antwerp thereof will first be informed.

Hopefully event organisers can continue to work with authorities to ensure that large scale music events can once again be held in the country as soon as possible.
