Sigma have pulled out of an Anti-EU funded concert in Birmingham

Bpoplive is organised by Leave.EU, an organisation founded by a guy called Arron Banks, UKIP’s biggest donor. It claims to be the UK's fastest growing grassroots movements, and announced that alongside acts like Ella Eyre and Sigma, Bpoplive attendee's could "enjoy speeches from leading personalities and politicians who support leaving the EU”.

When contacted by BuzzFeed, several of the artists due to be playing expressed concerns that they had been unaware of the concert’s motives. A spokesperson for Sigma claimed the two piece “are in no way supporting the event”. Someone speaking for MC Luck and DJ Neat said ““I didn’t even know it was about that to be honest” when asked about the concert’s sponsors.

Buzzfeed got in touch with Leave.EU to discuss the nature of the festival but were told that the original press release was a miscommunication, saying the concert does not have an Anti-EU stance, and likened it to Children In Need. None of the acts performing have made public statements as of yet.
