Hi Tom, congrats on Friday’s Gallery debut at Ministry of Sound. Have you ever played the club on a Saturday before?

Yes, I’ve had a pleasure to play a few times with names like Nicky Romero, Don Diablo, Porter Robinson and Funkagenda just to name a few! Every night was unique and special, therefore I’m more than excited to visit again and more so to play for the legendary Gallery brand for the first time. In 2014 I celebrated my birthday at Ministry of Sound, so this place will always be special. See you in The Box!

For those Gallery fans who may be unfamiliar, describe the Tom Swoon sound?

I hate to genre-ify myself, but if I had to do it, I’d say my sound is something between big room, progressive house and trance. Lots of drive, energy and melodies. In 2016, I’m opening up to more styles and tempos, which you’ll hear very soon!

Will you be adapting this ethos in anyway, to suit the Friday Gallery crowd?

I’m gonna play a closing set, therefore I’ll go for a bit darker, groovier side of Tom Swoon. I have recently played a closing set for MAYDAY and I enjoyed every second of that! So looking forward for Friday!

We enjoyed watching the mini-documentary about how it all began! Has your Polish background influenced your career to date?

It actually did. I come from a very small town in Poland (a three hour drive from Berlin), so it’s been harder to get out there and get things done. I am proud of my roots and decided not to leave the country or the city even if this means I have to drive three hours to the first available airport each weekend. But it’s a choice I have embraced and look forward to seeing some Polish flags in the crowd at Ministry of Sound this weekend.

Polish restaurants and cuisine are becoming more and more popular in London, what’s your favourite dish?

Polish pierogi, it's a classic.

One track which will definitely be played on Friday is?

Autoerotique - "AUH"

Finally, use three words to describe your forthcoming set?

Four to the floor! (had to add an extra word though)!

Tom will be closing out The Box after a four hour set from Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, get tickets here.
