Ahead of his set this Friday at Future Sound Of Egypt, Bjorn Akesson picks his top 5 tracks on Aly & Fila's FSOE record label
Philippe El Sisi - "You Never Know" (Aly & Fila Remix)
Bjorn Akesson: A very simple melody, yet very powerful. Something about this track really got to me, the early days of FSOE was gold and this is a good example.
Bjorn Akesson - "Painting Pyramids"
Making this track was a long process, but I felt during the early stages that it would become something very special. This track has been a very important part of my career and even five years later I get requested to play this track in every set. People still love it as much as they did when it was originally released.
Vast Vision - "Ardente" (Ian Standerwick Remix)
Packed with energy and two very talented artists involved. The original was nice but Standerwick definitely took it a step higher. I used to keep this track on repeat at home for many weeks.
Bjorn Akesson - "Gunsmoke"
I love taking risks and "Gunsmoke" was modestly chosen as the B-Side of an EP I made. Little did I know this track would become a huge success and be played by a huge amount of DJ's across the world as well as appreciated by people unfamiliar to trance. It was picked up by Armin on ASOT 2013 and the rest was history.
Neptune Project - "Aztek" (Aly & Fila Remix)
Huge track by Neptune Project and a brilliant remix by Aly & Fila. This tune just makes you feel really good and it has such a nice flow.
Bjorn Akesson will be appearing at Future Sound Of Egypt takeover at The Gallery this Friday 5th February, tickets & more info here.
