This Week's Good Music

Something old, something new and something from the gift who just keeps giving.

2016’s finally starting to pick up the pace

We started the week by shouting about a track that like it or not you’re about to start hearing more of.

Now, a mid-week kick up the arse has come from a trio of producers we rate.

Four Tet Drops Not One, But Two New Cuts

Forever the renegade we trust, Four Tet has uploaded two new tracks onto his Soundcloud. Released via his own label, Text, we’re dining out on a pitter-patter birds of paradise sampling Tet featuring Champion starter and an expansive collaboration with Designer main course.

Underworld Tease New Sounds With First Single From New Album

Verging on veteran territory with the first new track from impending album Barbara, Barbara We Face A Shining Future, "I Exhale" is a condensed version of Underworld’s upcoming eight minute album opener. It’s anthemic: think non-descript pieces of prose spoken over a soundscape of drum beat driven electronic planes.

Decent.

Lone Takes On Nimmo’s UnYoung, Gives It A Special Twist

It must be hard for producers to not completely butcher a pop track they’re tasked with remixing. The ever majestic Lone has managed to work his magic on "UnYoung", a track by tipped for 2016 London five piece, Nimmo. If the original was perfect for getting ready for school, Lone’s track was made for the Uber on the way to your Friday night out.
