Techno Viking Documentary

A new full length documentary might finally be about to reveal one of dance music's longest enduring mysteries.

One of the biggest enigmas in dance music has been featured in a new film

It's finally happened! Matthias Fritsch, the man behind the infamous original video of Techno Viking has made a full length film about searching for the man behind the myth.

The original was one of the internet's very first viral videos and the Viking one of it's first ever viral stars. TV has permeated pop culture to such an extent that even if you've never queued for Berghain and you think the Belleville Three are a gang of outlaws from frontier times, if someone says "techno viking" you'll take a step back and dramatically point dead ahead before bursting into an erratic techno-strut.

First uploaded to the internet in the year 2000 under the name "Kneecam No.1" the video shows an unknown, breakdancing, goliath, cutting his way through the streets of Berlin at the infamous Fuckparade.

Since then the video has spawned hundreds of memes, t-shirts, gifs, action figures and even a lawsuit. This is one of dance music culture's first forays into the online world and its importance to our scene can not be underestimated.
