Everything that happened in electronic music this weekend while you were staring out a strobe light
Rappers Delight Topped The Uk Albums Chart
Just two week's after our very own Sigala topped the UK Singles Chart with "Easy Love", our new rap-focused compilation Rappers Delight has topped the UK Combined Album Chart. Beating off hot competition from Faithless and Ed Sheeran, Rapper's Delight gained the highest total sales of the week. You can get your hands on a copy here.
Jamie xx Opens A Pop-Up Store In London
After the launch of the ‘Good Times’ store in New York, Jamie xx is having another go in Dalston, East London. The shop will stock records made by Jamie and also chosen by Jamie, picked from his favourite store up the road, Kristina Records.
Open until the end of the week, it will also play host to a special two hour radio show every night, broadcast by NTS radio. We’re particularly looking forward to a mid-week Sampha and Lil Silva session - tune in from 6-8 right here.
Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Win DJ Mag Top 100
The annual winner of the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s poll is in, announced at Amsterdam Dance Event this weekend. Topping the chart are Belgian Brothers Dmitri Vegas and Like Mike, who have controversially knocked two time winner, Hardwell, off the top spot.
The competition opens an already leaking can of worms about the validity of the competition, as this has not been the first year the poll has come under fire from the electronic music community.
Craig David Goes In On Bieber at Major Lazer
Taking the country by surprise has been Craig David’s aim of late. After making an appearance on Mistajam’s Radio 1Xtra show, where he pulled out a fiery rendition of "Where Are U Now", Craig came onstage with Major Lazer at their weekend show at Alexandra Palace to do it again.

Skrillex And Noisia Played From A 75ft Crane At ADE
Last week saw the 20th Anniversary of esteemed industry event, ADE descend upon The Netherland's capital. The event saw performances from literally hundreds of DJs over five days in a huge number of weird and wonderful venues. Competition for the most unexpected and unique event was pretty fierce, but we think this bassy team-up between Skrillex and Noisia in a 75ft crane above the city probably noses past the competition.
Snoop Dogg Sets Fire To The Rain At His 44th Birthday
The man also known as DJ Snoopadelic had to evacuate hundreds of adoring fans from his 44th Birthday celebrations in California on Saturday night. The incident occurred after a chandelier burst into flames above the crowd and began to rain fire onto the dancefloor. The event was ultimately cancelled, but it appears nobody was hurt in the incident. With his birthday not technically until 20th October, hopefully he can sort out a replacement party!
Busy P Brought Cassius And Para One In On His Essential Mix
The Tricolour of French artists brought listeners a two hour schooling on the best in French house and electro. The Ed Banger boss previously appeared in the essential mix alongside best friend, the sadly deceased DJ Medhi, in 2008. Prior to this outing, P promised listeners an exclusive first taste of new Ed Banger material. You can listen to the full mix here.
