Adam Ellis will be making his debut at Ministry of Sound this Friday 25th September when he will close out The Box after John O'Callaghan and Bryan Kearney
How did you go about compiling this mix?
For this mix I have used some recent promos as well as some older tracks that I like. I think that it is important to mix it up with newer and older music in your sets / mixes. I like to do that anyway. For the mix itself, I used Ableton Live 9. I love using Live for mixes. It's not as fun as doing a real mix, but it's much more practical and I'm quite speedy at it now!
Favourite track in there and reason why?
I have to say Adam Ellis - "Culture Vulture" (Vlind Remix). I have never had a single of mine remixed before, so to hear Vlind’s take on my single was amazing. It is an absolute weapon of a track too. I cannot wait to play this one on Friday the 25th of September!
Have you visited Ministry of Sound before?
Believe it or not I have never been to Ministry of Sound. I have always wanted to go, but the opportunity has just never presented itself. I have played in London 5 or 6 times in the last 18 months and it has always been the end goal to get to play the main room at Ministry of Sound. I am so excited that I get to do so. And with a one and a half hour closing set as well! I can't wait to play this iconic club for many reasons. One of them is the sound system. I have heard nothing but positive comments about the sound. I'm always looking forward to my choice of about 10 CDJ decks.
What do you have in store for the Ministry of Sound crowd?
I'm closing the main room, so my set will start off with a bang. I’m on after Mr Kearney so I plan to really nail it for the first 30 - 45 minutes, then go into some more uplifting trance. I don't want to give too much away though so you will have to wait and see!
Finally, use three words to sum up your forthcoming performance?
