Tropical House Haters,
Admit Defeat

Kygo has remixed ‘Take On Me’ by A-Ha and it’s glorious

The sound of tropical house has been a divisive one this summer

Its glockenspiel toting, steel drum bashing, pan piping overload goes down like a pina colada for holiday makers, but when it’s played in the pub on a weekday, "Firestone" sounds like the taste of a warm pint.

However, tropical house's baby daddy Kygo might be about to hotbox the hearts of haters. The Norse God of woodwind house music has just released a remix of "Take On Me", originally unleashed 20 years ago by A-Ha.

It’s been covered multiple times- to varying degrees of success- but Kygo, real name Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, may have just smashed it out of the water by adding an extra slice of 21st century relevance to a what might be the most bizarrely popular dance track to come out of Scandinavia since "Dancing Queen".

Premiered on Apple Music, some legend has uploaded it to the suitably adequate 'chill and vibing' youtube channel.

Try and hate this. We dare you.
