Ruby Rose Shuts Down The Haters

The actor and DJ pours a shot of vitriol for those 'who bitch the loudest'.

Ruby Rose has posted a sharp message of self-defence on her Facebook

Tired of accusations of jumping on the bandwagon, the DJ and actor defends herself against an apparently constant tirade of discrimination on her social media.

The post includes old pictures of Ruby DJing, as well as a list that includes Skrillex and Calvin Harris as people who she’s played with.

Female DJS cop it at the best of times. But it doesn't make it less frustrating. "Oh NOW SHE WANTS TO DJ" the odds are...

In what is already an under represented part of the music industry, applause and respect goes out to Ruby Rose, who has proved that she can nail a successful acting, modelling and now DJ career at a time where all it takes is being a minor reality TV star to get behind the decks.

She's not the only woman who has spoken up about the sexism faced by women who pierce the predominantly male stratosphere of electronic music.

Annie Mac has famously called out journalists who have asked her how she's able to DJ in heels, and after being accused of using her body to sell her music, Nina Kraviz used Facebook to decree that "Sexism and all other similar bullshit must die". Preach.
