Celebrating twenty years in Ibiza by bringing dance classics to the proms

Opened in 1871, The Royal Albert Hall is one of the nation’s most prestigiously posh music venues. Last night, it became as close to the main room in Amnesia, Space or any other super club on the White Isle as Pete Tong, joined by the national heritage orchestra, brought twenty years of dance anthems to Kensington.

Diving in with a suitably atmospheric "Right Here, Right Now", what looked like a 700 piece orchestra beautifully pulled off classics like "One More Time", "Lola’s Theme" and "Good Life", to a backdrop of strobe lights that from the look of them had been possibly pinched from Ministry of Sound.

You can watch the whole show over on iPlayer here. It's well worth a glance.

Obsessed with Ibiza? So is Hed Kandi.

Ministry of Sound Radio spent a weekend in Ibiza, it was suitably mental. Listen back here.
