Before they take to the high seas and the decks this Friday 24th July, we called up Cosmic Gate for a quick chat
Hi guys, how are you today?
Very good thank you! We are in Las Vegas for EDC. To see the rave community see take over the city - and change even the look of Las Vegas is simply amazing.
Did you enjoy the previous Gallery boat party last year?
Oh yes, we always love to play on boats and we are looking forward to being back this Friday already and give the Thames a proper good to be back set!
Our 'All Hands On Decks' series is renowned for bringing Trance to the River Thames! How will your set at sea, differ from the indoor club environment?
We always go with the flow, see how we feel in the moment, see what the DJ plays before, feel how the vibe is and decide how to create our set. This is very important to us, pre-prepared sets do not work for us. Spontaneous sets are what we think are the best and what we like to do.
Hopefully like last time, a few classic sea shanties in store?
Sure thing, some classic moments in a set we always like too!
Andain - "Beautiful Things" stood out then, what inspired you to play this particular anthem on board?
As mentioned before, it felt right so we played it loud!
Cosmic Gate's best cure for sea sickness is?
Always keep moving, so not to stand still. If it that doesn't work then you'll be alright once you're back on dry land. So good luck!
One tune you will definitely play this time around?
Rafael Frost’s brilliant remix of our "Sparks After The Sunset".
Finally, use three nautical themed phrases to describe your forthcoming set?
Hard with Heart.
After The Gallery’s sold out boat party on the River Thames this Friday, Cosmic Gate will play their second set of the evening back on dry land at Ministry of Sound. Get your tickets here.
