Somebody made an EDM Horror Film

Yup, we're as shocked as you.

Yup, we're as shocked as you.

Dance music tends to have a very complicated relationship with film. On one end you've got the brilliance of 24 Hour Party People, Saturday Night Fever and Party Monster, on the other you've got the face-palm embarrassment of Rob Heydon's truly terrible take on Ervine Welsh's Ecstasy, the well-soundtracked, but horribly written Human Traffic, and let's not even start on whatever the hell Beat Girl was meant to be.

So it's with more than a little trepidation that I loaded up the trailer for Enter the Dangerous Mind, a new film which focuses on a composer who must battle the evil voices in his head by, you guessed it, listening to EDM...

The film stars The Wolf of Wall Street's Jake Hoffman, Twilight's Nikki Reed and only bloody Scott Bakula from daytime tv Sci-Fi favourite Quantum Leap! Whether such a sterling cast can carry such a shaky plot line into the real of credibility remains to be seen and to be fair to the makes, the trailer doesn't seem as ridiculous as the concept, so I'm going to reserve judgement until the film comes out on February 6th.
