Get better acquainted with two of our handpicked residents

We couldn't be more excited to announce that we're adding to our crack team of residents to kick off 2015 with a bang. We've already let you know about our best-year-yet, bookings for Jan - March, so we though now would be a good time for you to get better acquainted with two of the guys that will be shaping the musical direction of the club over the next month.

We'll be bringing you more info on all the new residents over the coming weeks, but for now, we're proud to introduce Copy Paste Soul and Dom Townsend. And if you don't want to wait until 2015 to see what these guys can do, you can catch Dom Townsend play as part of the 103's house lineup this Saturday 13th December.

Copy Paste Soul

Story So Far:

Over the past 18 months, the elusive producer has garnered supper from the electronic music elite, with luminaries such as Annie Mac, Claude von Stroke, Justin Martin, Skream and Disclosure getting behind his soul-quenching sub-heavy rave inspired sound.

Production wise he's released a number of EPs on the highly respected label Exploited - including 2013's Look At Me - along with founding his own 2Swords imprint, which is now on it's third EP. His productions have attracted remixes from everyone from No Artificial Colours to bona fide legend Laurent Garnier.

But it's for his skill behind the decks, that we handpicked him for our new residents team. After a string of high-profile gigs, such opening for Annie Mac at the 02 Academy Oxford, Bestival and In:Motion, CPS proved his mixing credentials with an incredible terrace performance at Carl Cox's Revolution at Space Ibiza, which saw the Coxy himself, Loco Dice and Louie Vega dancing along in the booth.

Sounds Like:

Left-of-centre broken-house sound, grooves for the soul.

Quick Fire Questions:

What’s the best party you’ve ever been to?

Years ago in Ibiza at Space. but it was before it was massive promotions every night. It was a local night and id never heard of any of the DJ's. I heard Josh Wink's "Freak" for the first time and I nearly split a log!!!

Do you prefer dogs or cats and why?

Cats all the way!! Dogs smell too much and when they try and lick your face after they've licked their butts, thats just way too far!

If you weren’t a DJ what would you be?

I'd either be pretending to myself that i could play golf for a living ( i couldn't at all, but we can all dream) or i'd be storm chasing like in Twister.

Dom Townsend

Story So Far:

At just 26 years old, Dom has over ten years experience behind the decks. From humble (and underage) beginnings playing his first set in a club toilet as part of a novelty Liverpudlian student night, Dom has built a devoted fan base. Dom's shared bills will a who's who of dance music, everyone from Carl Cox and Pete Tong to Basement Jaxx and MK.

One half of the Imperial brand, he's built up a cult following in the UK and now boasts a Sunday night residency at Hush in Ibiza - his home for five years now. He's a regular at some of the best venues in the world including Space, Sankeys and Savannah. He's also been a resident at swanky San Antonia hotspot Plastik for an impressive five years now.

Sounds Like:

Deep party-starting tunes mixed with technical proficiency.

Quick Fire Questions:

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen on a rider?

A friend of mine works at Space in Ibiza looking after the DJs that play there and every so often I get a look at their riders. I can’t name any names but there was a Mexican DJ who wanted chicken wraps and jars of honey on his rider. I think thats pretty strange!

What’s the best party you’ve ever been to?

Me and a few friends ended up at a DC10 afterparty one time in a huge villa in the hills of Ibiza somewhere. That was pretty cool, I have no idea what time it went on until and there was very strange characters there, there was a great vibe though and everyone seemed to be having a good time, some more than others...

What was your first experience of Ministry of Sound?

It was at the start of 2013, I got invited to play the 103 while Toyboy & Robin, Ninetoes and Basement Jaxx played The Box. It was definitely one of the best experiences I’ve had in my career, the atmosphere was amazing all night! Its a bit of a cliche but I instantly fell in love with the place!
