Every week we ask one of our residents to choose a selection of tracks following a theme. This week, our friends at Hed Kandi are celebrating their 15th birthday, so along with a 15 hour Hed Kandi takeover on Ministry of Sound Radio, we've asked Hed Kandi resident Phoebe d'Abo to pick her "5 Tracks for Hed Kandi 15." Over to you, Phoebe!
Kings Of Tomorrow - "Finally" (East & Young Remix)
This has got be one of the greatest vocal dance tracks of all time! I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I have hundreds of remixes and bootlegs of this record and this one by East & Young never fails to get people´s hands in the air- including mine.
Gadjo - "So Many Times" (Original Mix)
A massive Kandi party anthem that epitomises everything that makes Hed Kandi what it is celebrated for- uplifting, sexy, summery, toe-tapping house music!
Soul Central - "Strings Of Life" (Supernova Remix)
A true classic- that iconic piano riff will always get a Kandi dancefloor going- Carl Hanaghan has done a great rework too which I´m looking forward to playing out!
Red Carpet - "Alright"
I love digging this record out towards the end of the night, such a powerful track whose bittersweet melody and lyrics just make you want to hug the nearest person and have a good sing-along. It brings back a lot of summer memories!
Funkagenda & Mark Knight - "Man With The Red Face"
If I had to choose just one track to sum up Hed Kandi in Ibiza it would be this. We are lucky to have The Lovely (and extremely talented!) Laura play this live at our residency at Es Paradis and it is nothing short of mindblowing. The ultimate Ibiza anthem!
