Introducing Jeremy Olander

He is the freshest thing to blossom in Sweden, a mixed metaphor of a 21st century DJ, the opposite of a packaged house music cheese puff. Modest, well mannered, patient, and undaunted by the big stage, knowledgeable, credible, respectful, and happy to be here, a 24-year-old oddly consistent in an inconsistent world. He is the protégé of a superstar who talks about dance music with unending enthusiasm.

There is a reason why Prydz, one of Sweden’s most highly regarded and respected DJ and producer in dance music history, plucked Jeremy Olander from obscurity. From the very first demo, Prydz knew that there was something special about the Stockholm kid. For years, he had been on the receiving end of music from budding producers but Jeremy’s was to become the first one that had truly made an impression on him. Eric signed Olander for a five-release deal with his coveted Pryda Friends label, and later asking him to accompany him on his European shows in 2011. To date, Jeremy Olander is the only DJ and producer to ever be officially endorsed by Eric Prydz.

April in general is looking like a pretty immense month at the club with every weekend pulling huge named dj’s out of the bag and Saturday 14th ain’t no different.  It has taken a while for him to get back in the booth but Eric Prydz returns to launch his new album which is due out in May.

An interesting character to say the least Prydz has seen a career that has quite frankly spiralled out of control since a few years backs and hasn’t slowed down since.  With countless productions and a live show that blew every dj out of the water, setting the standards for live performances one higher than anyone else has ever done before. Whether you are a fan of his earlier stuff or his more recent progression which is reflected in his tracks and sets, there is no doubt that he will make an explosive return to Ministry of Sound. Playing in the box for the first time ever, Jeremy Olander supports prydz as they both take full control of dj booth from 12am til 7. Straight out of Sweden, Olander was picked up by Eric himself who recognised his talent and unique style.

Eric Prydz stands alone in his ability to mix commercial success with underground notoriety. As well as triumphing in the charts, the Swede has also always been held in high regard by an adoring underground scene. His careful and smart approach of releasing certain tracks under different pseudonyms, on his own labels, has enabled him to achieve a kind of success that has never been seen before or since. Bringing in fans from across the board, Eric Prydz truly reigns as king of dance music.

And now he's back with his latest epic offering, 'Niton (The Reason)', a supremely uplifting anthem featuring the vocals of Jan Burton. It's already bearing all the hallmarks of becoming his 4th UK hit, having grown from an underground instrumental smash into one of 2010's biggest club anthems. The track has been a Zane Lowe 'Hottest Record In The World', a Cool Cuts No.1, Essential New Tune for Pete Tong, and been championed by Annie Mac, Scott Mills, Vernon Kay and many more.

The distinctive video was created by Immersive, who will also be doing visuals for Eric on his 2011 EP/IC tour. Hugely anticipated by dance music fans worldwide, this is going to be quite unlike any tour you've seen before; utilising groundbreaking new technologies, the show will sit neatly at the meeting point between cutting edge music and technology. Eric himself has stated that the concept of the tour was to "express my music in a visual context. I want to push the boundaries of a live electronic music show with technology that hasn’t been used before and to give my fans an experience that they will never forget.” The world premiere of EP/IC will take place at Brixton Academy in London on 2nd April 2011, and Eric has just announced that he'll be joined on the night by Adam Beyer - keep an eye on Eric's website for further announcements as they come!
