Never ones to shy away from showcasing the hottest up and coming dance music, for our most recent compilation we've delved into Future Bass - a genre that is fast emerging as the leader of the evolving underground scene and projecting its talent into the spotlight of the musical mainstream.
With acts such as Disclosure and Rustie making the Radio 1 B-List and world-renowned DJs including Annie Mac and Pete Tong championing the Future Bass sound, it seemed like the perfect time to collate all the best bits of the genre so far.
After kicking off CD1 with the hottest DJ duo around - Disclosure - and their recent club hit 'Control', we delve further into some of the biggest names in Future Bass via the stomping hip hop-inspired beats of Hudson Mohawke, then segue smoothly into the atmospheric 'Vehl' from Kidnap Kid and the funky tones of Karma Kid’s remix of 'Baby Let Me Finish'.
CD1 isn’t Disclosure’s only appearance on Future Bass - we couldn’t leave off the track that precipatated their rise to stardom – catch their infectious remix of Jessie Ware’s ‘Running’ on CD2. Flowing into the deeper side of Future Bass by demonstrating the varied nature of its exclusive sound, CD2 sees established names such as Jamie Jones and Eats Everything topped off with the likes of up and coming young bloods such as Pusherman, Dusky and TNGHT - this disc definitely represents a broader interpretation of Future Bass.
But we’re not content with just bringing you the freshest sounds from the underground scene. Oh no – far from it! Future Bass is also the first Ministry of Sound album to feature Aurasma. Download the Aurasma Lite App from the App Store or Google Play, point your smartphone over the albums front cover and watch your CD cover come to life.
