Saved Records debut at Ministry of Sound!!

As their final label outing on home soil before heading off to Miami 2012, Saved Records will be taking over Ministry of Sound on March 10th. The south-east London club where label boss Nic Fanciulli first encountered the capital’s addictive house scene back in the 90s, will welcome an array of Saved artists that ensured the best year yet for the imprint in 2011.

In The Box, Nic will be joined by German techno don Robert Dietz for a special b2b session. Two giants of both the decks and the studio, the pair will combine forces for a master selection of cutting edge techno. Complementing each other’s varied styles, this set is sure to be an explosive celebration of the best of the underground. Joining them in the dark, cavernous surroundings of The Box will be the always thought provoking Argentine, Guti. Blessed with an innate musicality that stretches far beyond most DJs, Guti has built a reputation for delivering memorable performances. His special live show tonight is certain to provide yet another one for the electronic halls of fame. Subb-an, the young Brit who has exploded onto the global scene throughout the last year completes the lineup in the main room. The Leeds native made a huge noise on the scene in 2011, nowhere least than dropping the huge ‘This Place’ on Saved at the tail end of the year. Expect only the highest quality of underground house and techno as the 23 year old demonstrates why he is already considered to be one of the most exciting talents the UK has to offer.

Saved continue their takeover in 103, where eclectic party starters Italoboyz will be joined by prolific Greek producer Nikola Gala and Saved label manager, Mark Fanciulli. ‘The Tide’ provided Mark with a huge summer anthem in 2011, with new track ‘Sacrifice’ looking sure to continue the trend.

2012 already looks to be another mammoth year for Saved. With huge events already planned for Miami, Maidstone and ADE, not to mention the up-coming Balance compilation from head honcho Nic Fanciulli, Saved are undoubtedly deserved of their reputation as one of the most respected labels around. Taking over Ministry of Sound gives you the chance to catch them in the UK before they set off around the world to continue their global domination.

Whats in Robert Dietz Box?

Key tracks in my box – Robert Dietz

1. Praslesh – Teatime (Understand002)
Two of my favourite Romanian Djs teamed up to produce the second release on their label from Bucharest. Deep and experimental Techno perfect for the late morning or early evening.

2.  Cabin Fever Trax Vol. 21 – Elements Of Live (Rekids)

The bootleg label of Radioslave is always a sure shot. And this record caught my attention straight away too. The pure and raw house stompers on it are exactly what I’m looking for at the moment. Mr Soundorom did a great job on this one.

3. Mario Aureo – Inside The Dark (Colourful)
Dirty piano leads and kicking beats. The track of Mario has so much roughness and still this deep vibe, really my cup of tea.

4. Vlad Caja – Morethenyourself (All Inn Black)
Another great label from Romania that always brings some fresh underground artists. I’m a big fan of it and didn't miss one release so far. On my favourite track on this limited vinyl release Vlad combines twisted beats with a catchy disco sample.

5. Sound Patrol – Cruisin’ With The Top Down

The track is on an old album of Derrick Carter and Chris Nazuka from 1994, which I just rediscovered in my record collection.  A real house classic with endless melodies.

Question & Answer

Q1. Your over here in London quite a bit but this is your first time playing at Ministry of Sound, correct?

Yes, it's the first time and I’m very excited about it. Heard a lot about the club and its sound. I’m very happy about sharing the decks with Nic Fanciuli at this night. We are going to have a lot of fun for sure.

Q2. In an interview you did recently, you mentioned, “A good party is like a great dish. Its about all the components, the ingredients of it. You have the people, the sound system, the dj, the bar and the drinks, the design of the club. If everything is working in harmony and its well spiced its going to be a blast for sure.” Do you think your gig at Ministry has all the proper components for a good party?

I really hope so. I had the chance to visit the club already two years ago for a secret sundaze party and I did like it a lot. The club looks very well and I’m super curious about the party people of it. But from the line up point of view, nothing can go wrong. ;)
