Calling all budding DJs! The Ministry of Sound DJ Academy team are offering one lucky winner the chance to attend our One Day Introduction to DJing course on Friday 25th May 2012!

The winner will be trained at our legendary London club by some of the biggest DJs in the business and get full behind the scenes access to all four of our DJ booths throughout the day.

The course is specifically designed for beginner and intermediate DJs and covers everything from basic techniques to advanced DJ skills.

You'll leave with a goody bag packed with CDs, VIP passes to the club and a certificate. AND as if all of this wasn't enough, you’ll also get the chance to submit a mix to the DJ Academy team for the chance to be selected to play at one of our exclusive new talent events at the club!

Sam Barlow, our DJ Academy Manager, explains the reason for running the competition:

"Here at Ministry of Sound DJ Academy we have two main focuses: number one, educating the next generation of future DJs, and number two, discovering this generation’s new and upcoming talent. We’ve put together this really special competition to give young people who deserve it most, the opportunity to get behind the decks and spin their favourite tracks on THE BEST night club sound system on the planet!"

To be in with a chance to win this EPIC prize, just answer the following question by posting a comment on this blog post:

You’re DJing at Ministry of Sound and are asked to dedicate a song to all the young volunteers in the crowd – what song would you dedicate to them and why?

You'll have to be quick, as the closing date is midnight tonight (Tuesday 15th May). Our judging panel will select the most inspiring answer and the winner will be announced here next week.

Get your DJ thinking caps on and GOOD LUCK!!!

So after months of deliberation, fighting, and back and forth, the DJ Academy team is proud to finally announce the winner of our Residents Remix competition. With hundreds of great entries it was unbelievably hard to choose our final winner, but with many people in the Ministry of Sound office lending an ear or two, and our Residents themselves giving their very own seal of approval, we can now announce Mike Perry as our remix champion. His Last day on Earth remix literally turned us all into a dribbling mess. So without further ado, here is your winner, and our 3 runners up, also all great pieces of music in their own right.

Winner:

Mike Perry Sweden

Sensproof

We would also like to give special mentions to Aurelien K, Mondomania, Urban Noise, Steve Love, Charles Deluxe, Filip Jenven, Ainaka, Foulworks, Conky, and Arclight. Thank you to everyone who got involved, we hope to hear more music from you guys in the near future.
