Oct 27th - Saturday Sessions Pres. Porter Robinson

Porter Robinson makes his long awaited debut at the Ministry of Sound for the Halloween Special.

At the age of 20, Porter Robinson has fast become one of the most exciting new DJs to come out of this year. Already a massive success in the US, the release of his first ever UK single “Language” on Ministry of Sound Recordings earlier this year rocketed him into the UK and international limelight, opening up a new dimension to his music. Known for his aggressive hard electro and electro house beats, Porter is ever growing to become a really interesting new asset to the EDM scene. Porter began making music at the age of 12, and since performing at the age of 18 has already toured with the likes of Tiesto and Skrillex.

When we caught up with Porter back in August, he explained how excited he was to play at the Ministry of Sound. “I think it’ll be a really interesting challenge to play to a totally different audience” [Porter Robinson Aug 2012]. This is only his second time ever playing in London, and is set to be completely unlike to any gigs he has done before.

Porter will play alongside producer and DJ Mat Zo, who makes his debut on Saturday night from originally playing as a Friday regular. His ‘Bipolar EP’ released at the start of the year on Anjunabeats was yet another reminder of his ability to shock as a revolutionary artist with his music. Taking gambles with his unusual sounding style, his music is enriched with unique electro-funky beats that make his production so unpredictable and exciting. Zo is quickly becoming one of the youngest fresh faced all-stars in EDM music!

Joining Porter and Zo is Tom Swoon, another young DJ who has emerged as a rising star in the EDM scene this year. Swoon has not only put out some incredible music this year, but raised the bar with rave reviews when he opened for Avicii in Malta in September. Check out his new release "Who We Are" with vocalist Miss Palmer, known from the track "No Beef" by Steve Aoki & Afrojack, released on Ultra Records for a taste of what to expect!

Porter, Zo and Swoon have shaken up the industry this year, and having all three under the same roof is going to be very special indeed. This, on the world’s biggest soundsystem will be a night not to be missed!
