Aug 31st – Hernan & Henry Saiz
'H' is for Hernan, and 'H' is for Henry. As two of the finest purveyors of beautiful, sensual synths, this show is sure to entice dance music aficionados from all over. On paper it reads Cattaneo's complex and layered soundscapes, interjected with Henry's intricate and thought provoking composition. Swathes of Hernan's tough but melodic bass lines, juxtaposed with Saiz's subtle rhythms - crafted through merging analogue and digital. The reality of this exclusive B2B promises this and so much more! It was the poignant pairing which rocked Sonar 2012 and The Gallery will be no different.
Senor Cattaneo actually answered these questions, whilst sunning himself on holiday. Arite for some, eh?!
This will be your 4th gig of 2012 residency at The Gallery. How have the previous 3 been?
Every single show has been great. The Gallery at Ministry always has a really good crowd - and its always a pleasure to come back to play. Jimmy Van M & Oliver Lieb, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, Guy J and Sander Kleinenberg…They have all been great partners to make top nights.
Favourite moment from The Gallery so far this year?
Hard question. The reaction at all the shows has been amazing, so you can´t choose one on top of another.
You're currently mixing the new 'Renaissance Masters' compilation, how will this differ from your previous output on the label?
Well, it’s two years later and music changes all the time. The approach is similar since I always like a slower CD - and one with a more clubbier sound. the track list on this one is fantastic, I´m also very happy with our own productions & remixes.
The week before The Gallery gig, you play Creamfields. How well does your sound translate to the outdoor arena, as opposed to the dark MOS main room?
It’s always different, but you get the same joy. Clubs are more intimate, as you are closer to the crowd and get to work the room around your sound. Festivals are more about energy and a more ‘global’ experience musically. I enjoy both really…
Finally, any exciting developments on your Sudbeat label in the upcoming months?
Sudbeat is doing great. We are getting our best reviews ever and we have lined up some hot releases till the end of 2012. From Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Eelke Kleijn, Vincenzo, Fran von Vie and some of our own stuff too.
