On 8th June 2011, Lucozade hosted a launch party for DJ Fresh's new single 'Louder' at Ministry of Sound. With the skater girls and skateboarders from the video, free runners, a great crowd, a knockout set from DJ Fresh himself AND an exclusive live performance of 'Louder', this was definitely a night to remember!

We managed to take some time out on the night to chat to DJ Fresh about 'Louder', the collaboration with Lucozade, working with 'Louder' vocalist Sian Evans and video director Ben Newman, his music, the drum and bass scene and much more...and this is the result!

When we say we are taking the roof off, we really have! Heads Up Summer Party news...

Summer is officially here and following the series of super cool monthly Heads Up parties throughout the winter at our discreet East London venue, we thought it time to take the party outdoors. So this July, for the Heads Up Summer Party, we think it’s only right that you get a chance to dance al fresco.

Defected Records is giving you the opportunity to dance under the sky in the open air and get up close and personal with the headlining DJs and some very special guests. This is a rare opportunity to dance outdoors in London and the Courtyard at Ministry of Sound will be turned into an outdoor arena from 9pm – Midnight on July 2nd.

The area will be fully equipped and dance floor ready, including a souped-up, customised Dodge 4 x 4 vehicle that transforms into super-loud sound system provided courtesy of Redbull. And for those who arrive early enough, there will be a free drink plus a barbeque on hand giving it a mini-festival vibe to start the night with a true party sprit. This very special event will be available exclusively to all presold ticket holders.

The last time we had a courtyard party was our 19th Birthday and that went off and caused various noise complaints from the neighbours oops...so make sure you get yourselves down there for this one Saturday as it may be the last one we are ever allowed have!! 

With heavy support from Annie Mac, Zane Lowe and Trevor Nelson to name just a few, 'The Trumpeter' is simply the hottest dance track currently tearing up the airwaves and has hit the top spot on the DMC Ibiza Buzz Chart. The production is quite simply staggering, with a bass that's so heavy it made Annie Mac rewind the record live on air when it kicked in. This, coupled with a catchy cameo from the eponymous trumpeter, means this is one record that looks set to hit the sky and keep going for some time.

Summertime and things are seriously hotting up for our International Tours team...following the fantastic launch night of our summer residency at La Terrrazza in Barcelona in June, we can't wait to be back there this Friday night! Our new home from home, La Terrrazza is an internationally acclaimed open-air venue that brings an intoxicating Ibiza vibe to the stylish setting of one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world.

Headlining on Friday is our very own International Tours Resident Paul Deighton. Paul has toured the world for us and DJed in Japan, India, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, S. Korea, The Philippines, South Africa, Brazil, Colombia, Russia, Morocco, Egypt, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Canada, Italy, Spain, Tenerife, Holland, France, Germany, Ibiza and throughout the UK, including our very own world-famous club! Paul’s own music and collaborations have been released by a string of world-class labels; his debut and trademark hit was Omega 33 on Gung-Ho Records, critically acclaimed and described by label boss Matt Stuart as "Pure Tech House Genius". Paul also runs his own label Mighty Moog Records.

Next up is another of our top Tours team, Luke Walker. Luke has been producing and DJing since he first discovered electronic music in the early 2000s. Inspired by legends in the New Zealand scene, his very first EP ‘Alias’ was signed to Underwater Records - his first big break back in 2005, the record became the 3rd highest-selling record on Beatport that year. Since then he's headlined Ministry of Sound Tours from Japan to Colombia and everywhere in between, had his own tracks played on Radio 1 and featured on the Ministry of Sound Underground and Global Underground 2010 compilations AND promoted his own London nights Rekonnekted, One Night Stand and Bit on the Side. Busy boy!

Joining our boys is rising star Danny Fourfour and world-renowned French DJ/producer and fellow Barcelona resident Florian Gasperini...so all in all, we can safely say that this event is going to be absolutely SCORCHIO - arrive early to ensure entry!
