Vampires might be in vogue right now, but if you think the Cullens are cream of the crop, you ain’t heard nothing yet. Make way for Scandinavian sensation Little Jinder, whom we are pleased to announce is Ministry of Sound’s latest signing!

The girl behind the pale and interesting glamour is 20 year old Stockholm native Josefine Jinder, who started making big waves across the pond last year with her smash hit single “Youth Blood”, which was released in November 2009 on US label Trouble & Bass Recordings and became a huge disco house anthem. Such is the buzz that Little Jinder has set pulsating through fans, DJs, critics and bloggers alike that the single is now set for a UK autumn release, along with some heavy-hitting brand new remixes from the likes of Bok Bok, Tony Senghore and Tomas Andersson.

Expect future big things from this little lady, who is currently working with top notch producers including Russ Chimes, Alan Braxe and Drop The Lime.

Ministry of Sound Interviews... Matthew Dear

Though you have recently visited the club for the Minus event, you have never played here before. What can all our devotee followers expect to hear from you on Bank Holiday Sunday?

Indeed, it will be my first time playing the legendary venue. What took so long? Expect loads of fun, fun, fun. I play anything with a soul.

What did you think of Minus?

The event was loads of fun. I had an extra day in London and was able to come out. I ended up wearing my friend's girlfriend's sweater all night, and I danced a bit. Everything sounded really good that night.

You are actually signed to Clonk alongside, Richie Hawtin, Marc Houle and many more inspirational artists. How did this come about?

Well I was signed to Plus 8 in 2003 or so. Clonk came about much later, and I was in need of a European booking agency. It all just kind of fell into place.

You have played a variety of clubs all over the world, what characteristics endear you to a venue?

Deep subs. I attest punchy systems that leave your ears aching in the morning. A great cast of characters behind the venue always makes it a better visit as well. Obviously the crowd ultimately sells the party for me. I like people who come to dance and hear great music.

This year saw you release ‘Black City,’ what was the thought process behind each track? Was there a particular theme/genre that you wanted to stick to or were you open minded with the productions?

I worked on the songs over the course of 3 years. One in fact was started in 2002, so there is a lot of living breadth under this album. My thought process going into my studio is not to have one. Music creation is my way of visiting a psychiatrist. I can sit for hours on end and channel it all into the machines.

It seems that you have quite an extended catalogue of remixes, having worked with a number of artists from a number of different styles. Do you approach particular artists or do they ask you?

There have been a few we've approached as fans, but normally they ask us. I really enjoy asking my favourite artists to do cover swaps instead of full on remixes. Let me hear how you would have made this song kind of thing.

Any releases that stand out for you as being your biggest achievement? (Don’t be modest)

I'm really happy to finally have this album out. As I said, it's been a long time in the making.

Where would you place yourself/ identity on the scene? People are quick to pigeon hole, how do you think people reflect your sound?

I make psychedelic-pop and techno. Call it what you must. I probably confuse people a bit, but that's fine. I don't ever want to figure it out.

Tell us a little bit about you’re four aliases, are you still pursuing them?

I'm more focused on the personal side at the moment, and will be for quite some time. However, I'll still find time to return to my Audion and False monikers.

Ghostly International?

Always.

So the festival season has been and gone in the UK, yet the rest of the world is still going strong. Have you played any or have any lined up?

I've got a few left in the year. Played a wonderful festival in Japan earlier this summer.

Is there anyone at the moment that you think is testing the boundaries in house music?

STL

Every press shot we see you in, you look different! What’s behind the ever changing style of Matthew Dear?

I can't just sit back and get lazy now can I? My hair grows quite quickly too.

Top Five Tracks

Boo Williams - Mortal Trance - Rush Hour
STL - All We Need - Something Records
Masomenos - Amor Amores - WTM
NoiDoi - Aprilie 9 - Oslo
Childproof Man - Fat Head - Spectral Sound

Lastly, if you had to go back and change a specific part of your career what would it be?

I would have let my dad teach me how to play guitar when I was 8 instead of 14.

Matthew Dear will be playing at South West More this Sunday at Ministry of Sound –

Example has taken the UK by storm  over the past 12 months, whether it’s been with his stellar, chart-bothering anthems or his packed-out live shows which have left audiences reeling.

He’s back this September with his latest single, ‘Last Ones Standing’ (pre-order it now), produced by Bjorn Yttling of Swedish pop  trio Peter, Bjorn & John, and if you hadn’t seen the video already, here it is:

If that’s not enough to whet your appetite, how about a free download of one of the hottest remixes from the single?

Doctor P is a bit of a dubstep don, and this remix ramps up the phat beats another notch, and gives you tingles in all of the right (and wrong) places. Sound good? Well here it is...

Enjoy!
