This Saturday's Fedde le Grand London Takeover is fast approaching - and alongside main man Fedde we'll be welcoming Sultan and Ned Shepard, Roul & Doors and Italian maestro Federico Scavo, who'll be making his Ministry of Sound debut in the 103.
With a slew of Beatport Number 1s under his belt as well as remixes for the likes of Bob Sinclar, Federico's sets are renowned for their electic, energetic mix of electro and house. We managed to interrupt his hectic schedule for an exclusive interview to find out what kind of set we can expect on Saturday, what's coming up for him this year and what his current top 10 tracks are - check them out below!
Ciao Federico! First of all, tell us what Ministry of Sound means to you?
This will be my first time at Ministry of Sound, I'm very excited and honoured to play there, especially because it will also be my birthday!
What can we expect from your set?
During my sets, I usually play about 80% of my productions and remixes. To give more exclusivity to my sound, I always play some mash-ups with tracks of all kinds of genres, including pop or rock ones, fused with my own pumping groove.
How has 2013 shaped up for you so far?
This year has started in a good way, in fact I've reached the Top 10 House chart on Beatport with 2 remixes so far: 'David Jones - Rhythm Alive' and 'Dj Falk - Been A Long Time'. Coming out soon is a special collaboration with Boy George, Marc Vedo & John Gibbons, called 'These God's Will Fall'. And in a few days time, I'll release the official remix of 'Candido - Jingo', a track that made history at the legendary Paradise Garage and Studio 54 in New York back in the glory days of the 70s.
What can we look forward to from you for the rest of the year?
Among my new projects for 2013 are releases with Toolroom Records, Hotfingers and lots of big projects on my own label Area94 records.
Any final words?
Looking forward to seeing you at Ministry of Sound! :)
