Harvey's back. For one night only...
After holding down a cherished residency at Ministry of Sound in the mid 90s, we’re amped to announce the return of the true king of disco, DJ Harvey, for one night only on Saturday 23rd April.
We are now delighted to be able to announce the full line up, spreading across all 4 rooms.
Of course in The Box, DJ Harvey will be taking control from start to finish, harnessing the exciting new power of our Dolby Atmos system. He's been working hard in the studio re-mastering his tracks in advance of this landmark show.
Harvey's musical style cannot simply be filed as eclectic; he plays whatever he feels, as he feels it, but always for the crowd. His vast knowledge of music is second to none and covers such a wide spectrum of genres and sounds that it can be played out anywhere from intimate showrooms to Berlin’s Berghain, and, of course, Ministry of Sound’s main room, The Box.
"You can't understand the blues until you've had your heart broken and you can't understand my music till you've had group sex on ecstasy” – DJ Harvey
In 103, founder of the legendary Junior Boys Own, Terry Farley will be headlining. Maverick production genius Maurice Fulton also plays alongside the excellent Awesome Tapes From Africa, who'll be carefully selecting out-of-print cassettes from African musicians and bands.
The Loft is headed up by Mixmaster Morris who's worked everyone from with Ninja Tune to Sven Vath. The Orb's very own Dr Alex Paterson also plays.
In the Baby Box we have Will Bankhead of Trilogy Tapes fame and Felix Hall (son of Terry Hall from The Specials) who'll be playing a very special reggae set.
