Coincidentally these same four digits also denote the record label by Slovenian selector Umek, whose explosive melange of tech-house and techno always bangs that tougher end of the 4/4 drum. As demonstrated by a recent headline gig at Space in Ibiza, where he went back-to-back with Suara label boss, Coyu, Umek is unafraid to showcase his lesser known, but equally compelling funkier grooves. So for this, Umek’s first visit to Ministry of Sound since last summer, The Gallery faithful can expect a set innovatively conceived and expertly executed in The Box. Though for a pioneer of the genre whose illustrious career spans two decades, we would expect nothing less.
