For the first time in the UK & London, Surgeon teams up with kindred spirit Lady Starlight to present a brand new live techno show at Rinse FM's next takeover of Ministry.
Following the success of his debut EP, Surgeon has gone from strength to strength. While working alongside a number of techno dons, such as Dave Clark and Hardfloor, he has released three albums and dropped seminal EPs on Counterbalance and Dynamic Tension. His talents, however, are not restricted to the studio. Surgeon’s live mixing has become synonymous with experimentation and innovation, and his avant-garde production techniques ensure that he remains in high demand.
Surgeon will be accompanied by the infamous Lady Starlight. From fashion designing to mixing, writing to producing, Starlight’s CV is about as impressive as it gets. Among many things, Starlight is known for her percussive heavy techno sets and eccentric performance style, so expect the unexpected when Surgeon & Starlight hit The Box.
Joining them later on will be Perc, who commands a level of respect that few techno artists can get. Perc has released records on labels like Kompakt and Ovum, as well as his own world-renowned Perc Trax imprint – an essential output for artists on techno’s most dynamic fringes.
Next up is techno heavyweight, James Shaw, aka Sigha. Over recent years he has dropped tracks on Blueprint Recordings and Hotflush Recordings, as well as his own imprint, Our Circula Sound. A wide range of labels, including CLR, have also commissioned remixes off him. It certainly looks like 2015 is going to be a great year for him.
Former junglist turned experimental techno pioneer, Lee Gamble, will also be making an appearance. His first full length release, Diversions 1994-1996, was assembled from stripped-back passages sourced from jungle cassette mix-tapes, and impresses on the mind like an obscure dream.
We also welcome our special guest, Objekt, who came to wide attention in 2011 with his celebrated debut 12” and remixes for SBTRKT and Radiohead. Known for his forward-thinking approach, Objekt combines elements of techno, dubstep and garage to form a hauntingly seductive and cohesive whole.
103 will be taken over by Brawther, Dexter, Harri & Domenic and Adesse Versions, whose latest record, "Pride", has been the soundtrack to dance floors across the world recently.
To top it all off, we have DJ Haus playing all night long in the Loft, and Grain aka Artwork joining us in The Baby Box. Hands up if you're in?
