The founding fathers of G-House, CUFF, have built a solid reputation as much for knowing how to throw a party as for their pioneering sound
Good news: CUFF are back, and bringing with them their finest DJs for #THISISCUFFLDN - a night of uncompromising music and relentless energy at the UK’s best club as voted by DJ Mag. For the first time ever, Felix Da Housecat will be in residence. Ever since the release of his 2001 album, Kittenz and Thee Glitz, Felix Da Housecat has remained one of the most iconoclastic figures in dance. With his original aesthetic of new wave and proto-techno, he has made a truly unique contribution to house music, and is certainly one to watch.
Joining Felix Da Housecat is Brooklyn house producer and pioneering DJ, Todd Terry. While he first entered the UK house scene back in 80s, Terry is still sounding as fresh as ever. Built on the concept that house music has a deep spiritual dimension, his music incites emotion and provides experiences – those which stay with you forever.
Next up is Ryan Blyth, who is back after cooking up a storm in The 103 last December. This year promises to be a big one for Blyth as he enters new territory with his new single “Special”, featuring the rich, soulful vocals of Luther Soul. Expect a high-energy set with an unstoppable momentum.
STUFF, who joined Blyth back in December, is also returning to Ministry of Sound. Described by K-Lagane as one of the most exciting underground artists around, his sound is anything but predictable. From French electro to “furious house”, his music defies definition and transcends expectation. STUFF describes his own music as "somewhere between house, techno, electro". Wherever that is, we're down.
Supporting the others in The Box will be Welsh-born producer Sion, who was signed to Chase & Status’ label MTA in 2012. New music from Sion is expected to land soon as well as a collaborative E.P. with Hip-Hop/ House producer Kolombo.
103 is being taken over by Madtech, which was founded by Kerry Chandler in 2012. Madtech could not be more popular right now after a string of sellout shows have left us all wanting more. While retaining a watchful eye over emerging artists, recent signings include Celsius, Ben Mono, Cera Alba and Kalyde. For Madtech, this is only the beginning. 2015 is undoubtedly going to be a great year for them.
Alexis Raphael will join MadTech for a serious session of meandering house and techno. Raphael has earned over 1 million YouTube hits for his single, "I know", and his unpretentious approach has earned him a highly esteemed place among the greatest house masters; as Raphael once said: "if you have a smile on your face, you belong in the rave."
Raphael will be accompanied by Third Son, Kashii and Tainted Souls so prepare yourself for life affirming session that will have you dancing all night long.
