Markus Schulz

With far too many remixes to count, the enigmatic German has also released two artist albums to much industry acclaim as well as putting out his hugely successful weekly radio show ‘Global DJ Broadcast’. In the trance world, Berlin born Markus Schulz is huge, voted 3rd in the Tranceaddict top DJs chart and clocking up 13 in the DJ Mag Top 100. As with so many artists, Schulz has built a career on outstanding mixing skills, but also manages to maintain a prolific studio output. With far too many remixes to count, the enigmatic German has also released two artist albums to much industry acclaim as well as putting out his hugely successful weekly radio show ‘Global DJ Broadcast’. With his trademark melodic, progressive, style Schulz is another German who has taken inspiration from Berlin’s changing cultural canvas. Unusually though, he has somehow managed to consolidate his homeland with new base Miami, drawing ideas from the fission between these two polarised places. Strange as it sounds, this is a formula that works for Schulz and showcased in the chilled, sublime Trance of both his albums. Talking about second album ‘Progression’, Schulz explains the influence of his new glamourous home “Progression was conceived in the summer, whereas the debut album was done and released in winter, so Progression is less dark, and more influenced by the sunny days in Miami.” Schulz has now taken this sound around from Miami to Berlin and everywhere in between. Lucky for us he’s got time to stop off in London and a very special Gallery party for us.
