Luke Walker (Tours Resident)

Luke Walker has been producing and DJing since he first discovered electronic music in the early 2000’s. Inspired by legends in the New Zealand scene his very first EP ‘Alias’ was signed to Underwater Records. This was his first break back in 2005 and was the 3rd highest selling record on Beatport for 2005.

From here, Luke made two EP's with DJ Loki for Gung-ho! ('Seamrider' and 'Alpaca') which became club classics in his home country. He also dropped the Mayhem EP which featured on the DMC WMC and New Release buzz charts and the Cool Cuts chart. 2008 saw him DJing in Japan, Barcelona, Hong Kong, Thailand, London and New Zealand and the release of 'Find your Way'. The track was played by Andy George and Jaymo on BBC Radio 1 and featured on the Ministry of Sound Underground Compilation 2008.

In 2009 he arrived in London. Since then he’s played across Europe and the UK as well as headlining Ministry tours from Japan to Colombia. He's also promoted his Rekonnekted, One Night Stand and Bit on the Side nights in London with 10 Rapid and Kristie Van.

On the production front, his remix of Burn the Negative made the DMC Buzz Chart and was picked up for the Global Underground 2010 compilation. His Hyaa!! EP was released on Gung-ho Recordings in March 2010 with support from Autokratz and Groove Armada. He’s also remixed the Japanese Popstars single ‘Let Go’ featuring Green Velvet as well as Eddie Temple Morris’s band the Losers.

2011 saw the release of his new Tough Love EP with remixes from Attaque and Greg Churchill. Early support was been phenomenal with Erol Alkan, Brodinski, Alex Metric, Fake Blood and Tom Findlay backing the release. 2012 see’s him out the blocks with a remix on r Arveene & Misk's Hells Bells 2012 and Gusgus lead singer Earth's new solo single all forthcoming on Gung-ho! He also has a new production being wrapped up. Gig wise he's brought his mix of bass heavy house, techno and electro to London, Brazil, Colombia, Italy, Germany and New Zealand. Upcoming dates include a set in the Ministry 103 Room in London and at Spindler & Klatt in Berlin.
