Joe and Will Ask?
Joe & Will Ask are an effervescent compound; two highly charged, frenzied individuals that explode when they’re brought together. There’s neither glitz, nor glamour when it comes to their becoming, just two friends that shared a mutual appreciation of music that makes you move, but when it comes to their music making ability, everybody is taking notes. Their name comes from their relentless passion to constantly explore genres of music, and represent their different influences within their own characteristic sound that they have become so well known for. Since beginning to collaborate way back in 2007, they’ve gone from strength to strength and gained the respect of some of the most influential club promoters and DJs around. Imposing performances at the likes of Matter, fabric, Trailer Trash, Durr, Club NME, Boombox, Together and Ministry of Sound to name but a few, drew attention from further afield, and soon the people of Berlin, Milan, Budapest, Ghent and Lille were shifting their feet to the beat. They’ve been compared to the likes of SoulWax and Chemical Brothers and produce a sound that unites dance floors worldwide, encompassing all genres from Techno, House and Electro. Support from the likes of Brodinski, Booka Shade, Kris Menace, Alex Metric and Kissy Sellout, and pop remixes for La Roux, Paloma Faith and Groove Armada continue to draw in new fans. Their DJ sets are hard, and energetic with a balance of musicality to win over the indie crowds as easily as the techno crowds, hailing back to the start of warehouse rave with its raw energy and fist pumping breakdowns. It’s music that connects listeners on a primal level, with enough raw energy, guts and musicality to win over virtually any audience.
