One of the most recent signings to Ministry of Sound Recordings, Wolfgang Gartner is a Grammy-nominated American house electro producer and DJ. He began producing music at a very early age, taking classic piano lessons and teaching himself how to DJ with only tape decks. Later on, he started DJing as a deep house DJ, and adopted the Wolfgang Gartner moniker in 2007. He explains the change in name as a change of direction music-wise, going from deep house to more electro/tech house productions and incorporating vocals.
In his short time producing music, Gartner has already managed to triumph in the house music scene, hitting number 1 in the Beatport Top 10 for eight of his productions, appearing as a featured guest on the famous BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix series and touring extensively around the world at world-renowned dance music festivals including Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival and many more.
In early 2011 he was nominated for four International Dance Music Awards including Best Electro/Tech House Track, Best Progressive Track, Best Breakthrough DJ and Best Breakthrough Artist. After collaborating and remixing tracks for the likes of Britney Spears, Timbaland and Black Eyed Peas, he recently released the huge hits 'Illmeric' and ‘Forever’, the latter of which featured Black Eyed Peas front man Will.I.Am.
Having joined Ministry of Sound for the release of his debut album, expect to hear a lot more from Wolfgang very soon - stay tuned!
